Whenever you talk about your experience with a medication, you know that the story is not really pretty because in order to use a medication, you first have to be sick, which is never a nice story. But every story like that should have a happy ending and mine started with Zantac.
Ever since I was a kid, I have never been able to sleep tight and I woke up during the night. Waking up was something that I was used to and because it happened so often, it didn’t prevent me from getting some rest and feeling fresh in the morning. I know that waking up is not something that should happen, but I really didn’t mind it.
However, when I woke up one night and noticed that I felt pain in my chest, I thought that I may be having a heart attack. But since that was a bit unlikely and it didn’t really look like a heart attack, I didn’t worry too much. I just thought that I ate something that didn’t quite agree with me. But then I started noticing other symptoms such as occasional nausea. When I complained to my mom about it, she immediately told me to go see a doctor because she had the same problem. It was gastro esophageal reflux disease and a medication called Zantac helped her.
Since I have always been a bit terrified of doctors, I didn’t really look forward to my visit. I know that most people don’t like doctors when they have to see them, but I was really scared. Surprisingly, I decided not to go and after doing some research on the Internet, I tried to do some of the things that were suggested, which were supposed to be helpful. I kept my fingers crossed and I really hoped that they would work so that I could avoid seeing a doctor.
Unfortunately, my plan did not really pan out because nothing I did helped. I think that some things did have a slight effect and they were a bit helpful, but not enough. I knew that I couldn’t postpone my visit any longer.
My visit was shorter than I expected and I have no idea what I was so afraid of. When I told the doctor everything about my symptoms and my mom, he eventually decided to give me Zantac, which made everything better.
