In this fast paced way of life, many moms are too busy to make a complicated lunch, and if you’re one of them, you’ll be glad to know that this recipe is designed to be fast and easy, so even the ones who aren’t experienced in the kitchen can enjoy making it without the fear of the meatloaf recipe going wrong. The essential of this recipe is making a meal that is quick, but still delicious and full of nutrients that make a well balanced meal. It doesn’t take longer than 45 minutes to make it, and once you’ve made the meatloaf mix, you’re pretty much free to do something else while you leave the oven to do the rest of the work. Here’s how the recipe goes…
Ingredients:
-1 1/2 pound ground beef
-1 large egg
-1/3 cup milk
-1/2 cup bread crumbs
-1 medium sized chopped onion
-1/4 cup tomato sauce
-2 teaspoons mustard
-salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Use a large bowl to mix all the meatloaf ingredients together. You can use your hands to mix the meatloaf mass until it’s homogenized and smooth, but make sure you don’t over mix it.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Use a large baking dish and spray it with cooking spray or cover with a thin layer of grease by brushing it with a piece of butter or vegetable oil. Form the meatloaf from the mixture, shaping it to be approximately 3 inches high. Wait for around 45 minutes, baking the meatloaf at 350 degrees F. Check to see if the meat has turned dark brown and stick a fork or a toothpick inside it. If it’s done, there should be no meatloaf sticking to the fork. When the meatloaf is ready, take it out of the oven and place it on a large plate to sit.
It’s important to leave the meatloaf to sit for at least 15 minutes, because all the meat juices need to spread evenly. Leave it for a while to cool off and get the optimal taste. Slice the meatloaf and serve with mashed potatoes on the side.
Since the accent on this recipe is on its speed, there was no glaze used on top of the meatloaf. If you want to make one, mix 2 tablespoons ketchup, 2 tablespoons mustard and 2 tablespoons brown sugar in a small bowl and pour over the meatloaf before placing it in the oven.
