MY MOST FAVORITE USSR BAND
(Japanese Texts only)

What made me take intersets in USSR and Eastern Europe jazz and rock music?

It was in 1980 that I came across Soviet jazz over the radio. That was the very beginning.

I was a student those days and often heard the short-wave radio programs when I have free time at home. I remember that I happened to hear very impressive jazz-rock music. At first, I didn't notice what radio station I was tuned to, but the voice from the radio announced "You are listening to Radio Moscow World Service" when that music ended. I was much surprised to hear jazz-rock music from Soviet Union because there was a propaganda that jazz and rock music was prohibited in general in that country.

Soon I became a regular listener of Radio Moscow World Service's music programs and often requested very many songs. I have many tapes of the programs on which my name was announced. They are good memory and still valuable collections.

A few years later, I found a pen-pal in Donetsk, Ukraine and started trading LPs. Many albums you can find on this page were coming from him, though I had let many items go. We were corresponding for 6 or 7 years, but correspondence was stopped after the Soviet broke down.

Now I have a good friend in Uzbekstan whose banner you can find on the front page. He often helps me with offering rarities which I missed many years ago.

The albums I listed are not for sale; they are my personal collections, but if you have any items of your interest, please let me know. I'm happy to hear from you.
