12th Annual Eagle Run - Saturday, May 26, 2012

The Endowment Fund Committee would like to thank all of the runners, walkers and kids who participated in the 12th Annual Eagle Run.  Although the numbers are not finalized; over 900 people participated, making it the largest in the history of the event. 

The Endowment Fund Committee would also like to take this opportunity and thank Kaiser Permanente as the event sponsor and all of the other sponsors that contributed to the event.  In addition, the committee would also like to thank the over 50 volunteers, who without their help, the event would not have been as successful.

Mr. Michael Laub hired as Superintendent

The Avon Board of Education has hired Mr. Michael Laub as the next Superintendent effective August 1, 2012.  Mr. Laub is replacing Mr. Jim Reitenbach who is retiring and has been the Superintendent for the past 13 years.

Mr. Laub is the Director of Human Resources for the Westlake City Schools and has experience in the similar-sized high-performing districts of Westlake and Strongsville as an administrator in the board office, as a principal and as a teacher.

District Report Card Results for 2010 - 11

We are proud to be rated "Excellent with Distinction" for the 2010 - 11 school year and this marks the 11th consecutive year as being rated Excellent and/or Excellent with Distinction by the Ohio Department of Education.
