Reasons
Borderline personality disorder is often shortened and said to be BPD. Though not too much has been found out regarding the reasons for the disorder, there are three distinctive points that are considered to be the probable reasons for the same. It may be inherited genetically and the point has been confirmed by the fact few twins have suffered from the same if either of their parents had suffered. Any deformities in the brain can also lead to this disorder where the patient and their family members have to lead a difficult life. Apart from all these reasons the one reason that stands out and is probably the most common one is the environmental factor.
Under the category of environmental factor lots of subgroups or reasons can be places such as childhood abuse or abandonment during that time. If people do not get enough attention then it might lead to this condition as well. Sometimes separation from the loved ones or near ones is also found out to be a reason behind people suffering from this disorder. Or sometimes it so happens that all of the above reasons together is responsible for getting a person into this condition. Borderline personality disorder can be recognized with the help of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and is usually found in people above the age limit of 18 years. It has been found out that without treatment the condition only worsens and sometimes even leads to self destruction. Thus if a person is suffering from this disorder, immediate treatment is very essential not only for the patient but also for the people near to them.
