 NINA | THE SINGER

NIna studied voice at Gardner Webb University while in high school.  She sang in many choirs and went to Governor’s School for choral music.  At East Carolina University she discovered jazz and discovered a new way to use her voice.  She sang with a reggae band, a beach band, and a classic rock band before finding her groove with a (mostly) R&B and jazz band.  They had standing gigs at the Icehouse in Wilmington, NC, the officers club at Fort Bragg and upscale restaurants in Myrtle Beach, SC. She started writing her own songs in 1990.  It’s taken many years to have an album like “Good to Me“.

NINA | GOOD TO ME

NIna has always believed in Jesus but her walk became very different when she found herself tangled in a prison of her own making.  She was broken enough to allow God to re-enter her life and rebuild.  One of the gifts she was blessed with was that of rediscovering music and finding like minded people to make that music with.  She started writing songs and rehearsing with Bill Garfield, Ross Dunkle and Scott Kelly.   They rehearsed and played a few events with the main focus being this album.  One year into it, NIna became pregnant. That delayed the recording for months, but they went into the studio in June 2009.  This album was released a year later.
