Unless Japan learns the truth of history
and other countries learn to stop using force in solving international
problems,
peace will never be attainable.
The only thing that violence can do is breed violence!!
Who would guess that a girl who grew up in a small village in central Illinois,
Secor, population 389, would emerge half a world away as the person to
stand up to Japanese soldiers and protect the lives of so many during one
of the most infamous episodes of this century--the Rape of Nanking?
In my lifetime, I will not see war disappear, but it can happen in the lives of my four grandchildren. People with ideals who are willing to work hard for those ideals, like Minnie Vautrin, can change the course of history.
