SXSW Posters The 2nd Batch featuring Tyler Stout, Jeff Proctor and Alan Hynes
The 2nd batch of SXSW prints see the light of day and they look fantastic. As ever these will be available at Mondo’s store and then any leftovers will appear online, happy hunting.
First up is ‘The FP‘ by Tyler Stout. The film premiers at Fantastic Fest and Mr Stout has produced this fantastically detailed print to go with it.
I’m liking a lot of the art being produced for this movie, including Jeff Proctor’s nice and gory take on ‘Hobo With a Shotgun‘ ….
Last but not least is ‘Hesher‘ by Alan Hynes.
Star Wars by Tyler Stout
Well what a way to round off the Star Wars run from Mondotees ! These prints have been widely anticipated and now they are here, satisfying fan boys everywhere ! I think these may have to be late editions to the Print of the year for 2010.
Available in regular and variant editions these measure 24″ x 36″ and have editions of 850 regular and 250 variant. Priced at $50 each regular or $100 variant. They go up for sale Friday, December 31st at a random time on mondotees.com
Monster Squad by Tyler Stout
Tyler has done it again with his rendition of Monster Squad measuring 24″ by 36″ and limited to 450 . Considering this one was created and printed within a week I think he nailed it. The blue variant measures 24″ by 36″ and is limited to just 100.
The Warriors by Tyler Stout !
That’s right Mr Stout’s second attempt at a Warriors print and I think he’s surpassed his first. This one comes in 3 flavours. First up is the regular print with metallic inks in either cut 16″ by 24″ (limited to 400), uncut with extra sidebar 24″ by 36″ (limited to 200) and finally the variant gold metallic extra sidebar uncut 24″ by 36″ (limited to 100).
At the time of writing only the regular cut prints are left.
Know Your History Pt2.
Next up is the fantastic ensemble piece from Tyler Stout for The Drafthouse. I’ve pasted in a quote from Rob Jones who explains the concept !
“Here’s the deal. Tim at Alamo approached me about coming up with a poster for The Alamo Drafthouse downtown to help with an upcoming membership drive. Their 10 year lease is up, and of course the rent will now double. This is the Alamo that pretty much shows all the old crazy shit as well as new crazy shit all year long.
If you’ve been to it, you know there is a huge painting above the stairs of one of the classic posters for the John Wayne movie, The Alamo, showing Marion and boys battling it out with Santa Anna’s army. I suggested that since the theatre is under seige like it’s namesake, why not remake that poster but with all the great movie characters from films they’ve shown aiding Daniel Boone against the powers of darkness (I was just thinking Zombies, but Tim didn’t want Leatherface being one of the good guys, so we decided to have classic bad guys fill out the evil ranks).
Tim said, “That’s a good idea, can you make that?” to which I responded, “Fuck no, it would take me a million years. But I know who can.”
Tyler Stout picked up the gauntlet, and made this.”

I’m pretty sure this piece comes in 3 variants (please correct me if I’m wrong) an original, a metallic variant and then a 2nd edition with more characters added. All measure 34″ by 24″.
