"The ERE Foundation is a non-profit organization that gives the recruitment/HR community a chance to provide underprivileged young people with the skills they need for future careers all over the world."
We want to thank everyone who participated in ERE Foundation activities during the early part of 2010. Because of your generous support, we were able to pass along a $15,000 donation to Hope For Haiti, to help them in achieving their mission of providing quality education to the children of Haiti.
For more about Hope For Haiti and the great work they do visit www.hopeforhaiti.com.
As has become tradition over the past few years, we are proud to announce that we will be holding a poker tournament to support the ERE Foundation at this year’s ERE Expo 2010 Spring conference in San Diego. The tournament will take place on Monday, March 15 at 9 p.m. at the Hard Rock in San Diego, and go until we have a winner, with all proceeds going to the Foundation.
At our previous tournament this past fall in Florida, we were able to raise over $7,000 which will be donated to causes which fulfill the Foundation’s mission to support educational opportunities for disadvantaged young people, with a particular emphasis on parts of the world where our funds will have the greatest impact.
The proceeds from this tournament will go directly to Haiti, to support the children affected by the devastating earthquake.
Time to practice your best poker face, as we will once again be having our annual ERE Foundation Poker Tournament at this Fall’s ERE Expo conference in Florida. The tournament will take place Wednesday, September 9 at the Westin Diplomat, directly following the ERE Expo welcoming reception.
Thank yous are in order to Sarah White and Jeremy Langhans, who graciously devoted their time to put this together and help secure sponsors.
All proceeds of this event will be donated directly to charities which support educational opportunities for disadvantaged young people, with a particular emphasis on parts of the world where our funds will have the greatest impact.
It doesn’t matter what your skill level is; if you are attending ERE Expo we want you to play!
And if poker isn’t your thing, stop by anyway and take part in some great networking!
For the past three years, the ERE Foundation has been raising money through a variety of efforts including a silent auction at our annual Fall ERE Expo, and several poker tournaments throughout the year.
The Foundation was established under the mission to support education and literacy programs that provide underprivileged young people with the skills they need for future careers all over the world. Yesterday, as ERE Expo 2009 Spring came to a close in San Diego, our board member Gerry Crispin made a special announcement that this year, the ERE Foundation would be donating $50,000 to the Central Asia Institute, an organization which promotes and supports community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
None of this would have been possible without the help of several people; ERE Foundation board members Gerry Crispin & Kate Bruener, Dick Gast for organizing and running the annual silent auction, Monster for sponsoring the silent auction and matching the auction donations dollar for dollar ($6,150), Jason Davis for organizing the poker tournaments, and JobTarget for sponsoring the poker tournaments.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone in the recruiting community that participated in our fundraising events and gave so generously — you’ve all made this possible.
With last month’s conference behind us it’s a good time to take stock of where we’re at after the fundraising push surrounding the conference. We raised $12,300 ($6,150 of which was Monster’s matching donation).

Could your process to hire and onboard employees be more efficient or friendly?
How do candidates perceive the services of your outsourced vendors?
