Archives for IPhone – Q/A

My phone is stuck in recovery mode and i need to enter the passcode so that the iphone can connect to the itunes. My phone won’t show the keypad and i can’t enter the passcode. HELP!

Chosen Answer:

I think you mean lock down mode. That is when you enter 10 or more pass codes that are incorrect and then your screen says “Try Again in ___ Minutes”. If this is your problem you have 2 choices.
(1) Remember the pass code to your iPhone
(2) Go to AT&T or Verizon Wireless (whichever one is your carrier) and ask them to fix it. Although, you might need a proof of purchase, because they might think that you stole the iPhone or found the iPhone on the street.
*If your iPhone was jail broken and unlocked and your carrier was for example T-Mobile, I don’t think they wouldn’t be able to fix it.

If you actually mean Recovery Mode where all your screen does is show a picture of a wire and the iTunes symbol, then you need an AT&T or Verizon Wireless sim card that does not have a pin. (So basically if your sim card has a pin, you have to go to your carrier and get a new sim card) If your phone was unlocked, it’s locked now and a T-Mobile, Sprint, (etc) sim card will not work.

Hope this helped. I would recommend checking your instructions booklet which came in the iPhone box.

Instead of buying an iPod touch, i was thinking about buying an iPhone 3g so i could use the camera. Can I use everything on the iPhone besides calling and texting on the iPhone (music, games, camera, wifi) without a sim card? Also, what is the difference between an iPhone 3g and an iPhone 3g s?

Chosen Answer:

I would wait for the next gen ipod touch.

I thought the application in the iPhone commercial was pretty cool, but I don’t know the name of the application.

My computer crashed recently and I lost all my iTunes data (like my playlists which I sync to my iPhone) and I do not want to lose all the songs that are still on my iPhone. However, I have songs I want to put on my iPhone right now. Is there any way to extract my songs on my iPhone and put them on my computer so that I do not lose them?

Chosen Answer:

The best program to answer your question is Touch copy, it works with my iPod touch but it also works with iPhone. It looks almost like iTunes with the ability to view/edit and copy everything from music, apps, play lists and video. also you can play everything within the program too with out iTunes. tha slight downsid to the program is that you have to buy it but I do believ you get 15 days of use though. Happy retrieving.

How long does it take for Iphone to erase memory?

Ok I just baught an Iphone 2g from somebody and it had a lot of junk that I did not want, so I went to the restart page an started erasing all the memory. Now the problem is that its been erasing the memory for almost 12 hours already, it just shows the apple logo and a little circle.. I already pushed the home button and the top button to restart it but all that does is turn it off, and when I turn it on the same thing starts happening.

I called apple and they said it has no warranty, any advice?

Chosen Answer:

is it jailbroken??? you might need to do a restore on iTunes, just plug in the phone, iTunes will read it altho its ion the death ring and apple logo, you should be able to restore but note that that will make it erase everything and start from scratch, if not DFU Mode restore is your next step, go to iClarified for a tutorial, it sounds thats what you might need.

Good luck.

I’ve seen the i68+ and i9+ on ebay and I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the iphone and these phones. Is the i68/i9 a good phone? I have at&t.

Chosen Answer:

The i68 & i9+ are Chinese iPhone knock offs. Imitations. They are terrible phones. Avoid at all cost.

This is a review of the A88 but it is very similar to the i68 & i9

I finally got my iPhone and such figured out but now I want to get my photos from my old phone over to the iPhone. I have them attached but the iPhone says that the old one isnt connected. I dont want to lose my photos and such…what do I do?

Chosen Answer:

You can’t do this with a non-Apple device. Believe me I’ve tried, i have an iPhone and my husband has a Blackberry, and it’s very frustrating because every other phone in the world can do this now. You can between one iPhone and another iPhone or iPod Touch or iPad, but not between an iPhone and a Blackberry. I can’t even do this between my iPhone and my Macbook.

You’ll need to download a trial of one of the Blackberry desktop managers and put the pictures on a computer, and then sync them to your new iPhone with iTunes.

Is it better than iPhone 3g? How much does it cost and should I sell my iPhone 3g for the 3gs?

Chosen Answer:

it is slighlty better than iphone 3g but iphone 3g will get the software update for free. the only hardware features u will lack is: a digital compass, 1mpx more on ur camera, and maybe a slightly better battery and/or processor.
is it worth to sell ur iphone 4 the new 1? that depends on how much u want the v slight improvements in hardware. if u just bought ur iphone u mite be able to return it for a refund. otherwise u wud hv to pay over 199 for iphone 3gs cos u hvnt kept ur contract for 2yrs. personally i wud keep the iphone i hv cos they r gna release a newer 1 a yr after and it will be the same story over again. however apple might not allow the current iphones to record video or bluetooth connect or watever cos they might give a lame excuse like it wud drain battery life 2 quickly, there might be too much lag…

if u can live without these features dont get iphone 3gs:
- slightly faster
- predicted better battery life (but iphone 3g battery life might improve as well with software updates)
- video recording (not sure if iphone 3g gets it as well looking at apples site)
- voice control (idk y apple wudnt allow current iphone 3g users to get this but on there site, it doesnt show iphone 3g with this)

hope i helped

How can you be safe while having an unlocked iphone?

I want an iphone, but i have t-mobile so i would have to get an unlocked iphone. Is it easy to get it locked? I want to avoid that and if it easily can get unlocked, i would like to know.

Chosen Answer:

There are 3 easy steps to unlocking your iPhone and it’s completely safe. Check out my webpage dedicated specifically to answering this question.

I have t-mobile fav 5 and I used it. Takes about 10-15 minutes. Download a program, install, hook up the iphone, and follow the instructions. Cost you 30 dollars but it’s worth it. Or you could pay as much as 50% more to switch to AT&T’s plan, cancel your current plan with t-mobile, pay for text messaging, and pay the activation fee of . It’s a no brainer if you like your current t-mobile service.

which should i get the iphone or the ipod touch? I really like all the stuff on the iphone like the internet and the apps and everything but i don’t ever hardly call anybody. would the ipod touch be better for me? what all stuff is on the ipod touch? Thanks.

Chosen Answer:

Pretty much the only difference is that the Iphone has a phone. If you don’t have a mobile phone then i would say the iphone because its only one device. The ipod touch is great, i have it!
