Programming From Home

Everybody thinks that if you work from home you must be doing some shitty job for a shitty companies and that the only reason that you are even doing it in the first place is because you don’t have a real job. Well I am a living proof that is not the case all of the times. I am a programmer and I work for Ubisoft. For all of those who don’t know Ubisoft makes video games. I am senior developer and my job is to supervise the making of every game that my studio decides to make. To be exact my job is to test the game in all of its stages, from the Alfa version to the final realize. As you can imagine it’s a fun job. I basically get paid to play video games.

But the best part is the fact that I work from home. And that my friends are way better than the fact that I play video games for a living. You may all maybe wondering how is it that I have such a great job in the first place. Well it’s a long stories but I hope you will read it thru to the end. I was always fascinated by video games. I like playing them on every available consol. But my family couldn’t afford to buy me a personal computer so I usually spent my time playing at the arcades. As the years went by I enrolled into a programming school since that was the only thing that ever interested me. And I finished with flying colors. I was so happy and proud of myself. I immediately went on a job hunt and not long after that I got an internship at the local software firm. There I studied from the masters of the trade and after a couple of years I was ready to take on more serious challenges. My love for video games and sitting in the comfortable chair had only increased over the years.  Of course at that time I have already earned enough money to buy my own personal computer and a good one to be precise. One day I got home from work and saw an ad that one of my favorite games Assassins Creed is looking for closed beta testers.

I immediately applied since I had nothing to lose. In my application I stated that I was a programmer and that I have experience in the area, so naturally I was not surprised when I read in the e-mail that I was just what they were looking for.  After weeks of testing I was ordered to send a feedback to the programmers of what I think of the game and if I see some room for improvement. And I did which I enlisted in my feedback.  The senior programmer was so thrilled of my idea that he momentarily offered me a job. I took it and as the years passed by I was getting more and more respected in the company. And now, at this day I am the senior programmer and I work from home.
