It just got easier to Support CBI with monthly donations: The mission of Community Boating is to provide “Sailing for all” regardless of physical or economic circumstances. Last year, Community Boating provided approximately $120,000 in scholarship memberships to kids from low-income families and over $80,000 of membership service to individuals with special needs!

Adult Racing Clinics

CBI is offering a series of three classes on Wednesday evenings designed to demystify racing and get you ready to race--no experience required! Racing is a fun way to improve your skills and enjoy the friendly competition at CBI. The classes--Introduction to Racing, Basic Racing Rules, and Basic Strategy--will be offered on consecutive Wednesdays, and will repeat throughout the season. Open House: 4/28

Come experience community sailing where it all started. We’ve been teaching sailing on the Charles River since 1946 (the first in the nation). Today our fleet of over 150 sailing craft and kayaks awaits you. Join us on April 28th, from 10am—2pm for an Open House! There will be a free Orientation tour and starter class every hour, on the hour. Walking out on the new docks, it is impossible to miss the red shed hosting a fleet of windsurfer sails and the array of windsurfing boards hanging on racks beside it. Perhaps like me, you’ve even abandoned the comparatively stable (and dry) boats to check out a windsurfing class.

Raise the Sails Gala

This fundraising gala helps support our youth and adaptive sailing programs. The evening will include a live and silent auction, cocktails, hors d'oeuvers, dancing and door prizes! JP Environmental Education Program

Community Boating will continue the Environmental Program begun in 2011. The program is brought to CBI juniors through a partnership with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. Juniors will learn about our Charles River environment through activities including: fishing, eel trapping, water quality testing, and so much more. Any Junior can sign up for this program, there is no pre-requisite. Registration for this program will begin on May 1.

Thank You Volunteers

Thank you volunteers for helping the last two Saturday's to get the boats in the water, rigged, and outfitted, the boathouse straightened up and cleaned, and lots of other painting, building and gardening projects as well. We'll see you April 1st to go sailing!

The Liberty Hotel is located at 215 Charles Street in Boston. Across from the Mass Eye and Ear parking lot. (Validated parking available for $5) It is also directly accessible by the Red Line T stop, Charles/MGH.
