Are you worried about how to afford college? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then coming to College Day is a must for you!!!


Every year, MSA UCLA offers Southern Californian high school and transfer students a glimpse of what it's like to be a Muslim College student. College Day offers one-on-one time with MSA college students, thought-provoking lectures, and hands-on workshops that will help you get all your college questions answered. Whether your questions be about SAT vs. ACT, choosing the right school, transferable units, or what to do after you get your diploma, we can help you because we've been there.

UCLA MSA Scholarship 

In 500-700 words, answer the following question: 

How does Islamic Sharia encourage Muslims to be faithful to their countries (in this case the United States)?

Guidelines: 

   - You must be a high school senior that has applied to college for the following year OR you must be a community 
   college student intending to transfer to a 4-year university. 

   - You must be registered to attend College Day

Islamic Relief Scholarship

In 500-700 words, answer the following prompt: 

Tell us about a humanitarian service or community contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this activity or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are.

Guidelines: 

   - You must be a high school senior that has applied to college for the following year OR you must be a community 
   college student intending to transfer to a 4-year university. 

   - You must be registered to attend College Day

Muslim Green Team - UCLA Scholarship 

In 600-800 words, answer the following prompt: 

There is enough for everyone's need but not enough for everyone's greed.” — Mahatma Gandhi

This quote is applicable to the environmental crisis we are facing today as a result of the over-consumption of limited resources. Argue how Islamic teachings advocate for a moderate and sustainable lifestyle and how you would integrate environmental consciousness into your life. Include references from the Qur’an and hadith for support.

Guidelines: 

    Division 1: You must be a high school freshmen, sophomore or junior.

    Division 2: You must be a high school senior that has applied to college for the following year OR you must be a community college student intending to transfer to a 4-year university.

There will be one winner from division 1 - $300

and one winner from division 2 - $800

Additional Guidelines for all scholarhips:


-Deadline for all scholarships: extended to Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:59pm 

-There will be different recipients for each scholarship (i.e. you may apply for more than one, but you could only win one!)

-Recipients will be presented on the night of College Day. BE THERE!
