政府の役割に関する宿題：講義内容と下記の二つの論文（5/23資料に掲載）を参考に政府の役割に関する質問に答えなさい。

①アメリカ連邦準備制度理事会議長（Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System)のBen Bernankeの記者会見とそれを巡るColumbia University's Joseph Stiglitz と Dartmouth's Matthew Slaughterの議論が下記のアメリカ公共放送のビデオで報道されている。映像だけではなく、発言記録も見ることができる。

Ben Bernakeは、放送によると量的緩和による金融緩和措置を2011年6月にも停止するとしている。
Bernanke also defended a controversial program known as quantitative easing, or QE2, a Fed program to buy $600 billion of government bonds in an effort to spur lending and expand business. Today, the Fed announced the program will end as scheduled in June.
それに対して、Krugmanは、
"he(Bernanke) argued that the Fed's recent policy of buying long-term bonds, generally referred to as “quantitative easing,” has been effective. So why not do more?
と言っている。Joseph Stiglitz や Matthew Slaughterの発言も踏まえて、Bernankeの金融政策についてインフレと失業という言葉を交えつつ、貴君の考えを述べよ。
