Audio Description Illinois
The Alliance Library System has received an LSTA grant from the Illinois State Library to help digital imaging initiatives throughout Illinois incorporate audio descriptions into their websites and archives of digital images. We are calling the project Audio Description Illinois.
Each library involved in the project will select 10-12 images to describe for inclusion in this collaborative model website. Check back as we add to the collection.
What is Audio Description?
Audio Description: Designed for both sighted and visually impaired users, this site features audio descriptions of its images. Audio descriptions are where a narrator uses audio to describe a picture for someone who cannot see the picture.
New Workshop Lineup Starting on November 18, 2008
The Alliance Library System presents a statewide series of free Audio Description Workshops
conducted by Tom Peters of TAP Information Services.
