The Birds We Protect Join Us for a Fun and Informative Trip The Birds We Protect Conserving Birds and the Environment for 30 Years

Welcome to Our New Website!

In an effort to make it easier for our members and other friends to learn about all the facets of New York City Audubon, we are very happy to present our new website.

Please take some time to explore the website, using the six tabs across the top of this page. They are chock full of information on our trips, classes, lectures, conservation work, where to see birds and current issues of concern to you, a person who cares about birds, wildlife, and preserving their habitat.

Here's what's new on our site - Our award-winning quarterly newsletter, THE URBAN AUDUBON, will now be posted here two weeks after it is mailed to members. Everyone will now have web access to all the informative articles and news. Plus... access to back issues! Under the GO BIRDING tab you will find up-to-date information on the city's most popular birding locations, written by long-time local birding experts, with historical background on the sites and trail maps. Please take a look at the detailed maps of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge newly created by Ron Bourque. We hope you find them helpful. Also under GO BIRDING, the new birder will find information tips on getting started, including the necessary tools. The EVENTS AND ADVENTURES tab lists all our current activities. The CONSERVATION tab has up-to-date reports and scientific data on all NYC Audubon's work. Here, also, is news and background for  "Issues of Concern." The TAKE ACTION and SUPPORT US tabs will show you ways to make a true difference by volunteering your time and giving us financial support without which our conservation work and the events you love here at NYC Audubon would not be possible.

This new website is overwhelmingly the work of many volunteers. We would like to deeply thank our contributing writers and photographers: Marcia Fowle, Paul Kerlinger, Mary Jane Kaplan, Ron Bourque, Don Riepe, Harry Maas, Guy Tudor, Jeff Nulle, David Burg, David Kunstler, Debbie Becker, Joseph DiCostanza, Peter Joost, Peter Dorosch, Steve Walter, Edward Johnson, Howard Fischer, Catherine Barron, David Speiser, Lloyd Spitalnik, Steve Nanz, Francois Portmann, John Shemilt, Paige Gunther, Meghan Lalor, Trish Bertuccio, Adriana Palmer, Matthew Rymkiewicz, Melissa Husby, and Jeff Kollbrunner.
