I grew up working for my dad, a General Contractor, who had worked himself up the construction ladder and settled in Phoenix, where he built a successful remodeling company-almost entirely by word of mouth. I started working with him after school and weekends, pushing brooms and putting away tools. As I progressed, he showed me, step by step, the basic points in every phase of Remodeling as well as New Home Construction. Many of the lessons he taught me, I've carried into my own business. He loved dealing with people most of all, and always believed that if he treated them fairly, he'd reap the benefit of their loyalty long after the job was completed. After he retired, I moved to Southern California, where I continued to pursue the Remodeling trade. Dad taught me that one's experience will show through in the quality of the job, and that most people can instinctively recognize true craftsmanship. |
