Dapoxetine is an active ingredient of Priligy and is widely used in the treatment of conditions such as premature ejaculation. Formally, dapoxetine is addressed by the term dapoxetine hydrochloride. The medication was available in certain pharmacies in Europe in early 2011 under a doctor’s prescription. The drug was not available in the US due to its lack of approval by the FDA. Traditionally, dapoxetine treats depression, although studies have testified to the uses of dapoxetine in dealing with instances of premature ejaculation as well.
