バラのブルヘッド
バラのブルヘッドの写真集・・・(爆)
先日バラのバラの貫生花（かんせいか）の写真を載せましたが、
今日はその貫生花（かんせいか)とよく混合されているブルヘッドの写真を掲載〜！
ブルヘッドとは特に春先、蕾が形成されている時に、低温に何日(何夜）さらされた
バラによく見られる症状で、横から見ると蕾の先が切られたような感じに平らになり、
花びらが縮れて中にカールしてしまっているような状態を言います。

"The formation of malformed flowers, so-called “bullheads”, which have significantly more petals than normal flowers, is also promoted by low temperature and low cut back. Light intensity seems to have no effect. Shoots subjected to low temperature (12°C) during the early stages of development, before the differentiation of the floral organs are fully completed, produce malformed flowers to a greater extent than shoots subjected to high temperature (18–24°C) during this period."

"Cause: A physiologic problem when temperatures drop into the 50s during early flower development. During this time there are major changes in the balance of different growth regulators present within the flowers. Prevalent in the cultivars Baccara and Talisman and those in the Columbia family of roses. The plant is not permanently affected.
Symptoms: Buds have a flat-topped appearance instead of the pointed tip normally preferred. Flower buds are larger in size and weight, have many short petals and petaloids, and have a profusion of secondary florets bearing carpels near the base of the flower. "

ＥＲのプリンス。 横から見るとこんな感じ。蕾の先の方が
切られた様に平たくなっているのがお分かりでしょうか？
上から見るとこんな感じ。花びらがより縮み中にカールしています。
花びらが丸まってしまっています。
しかし、この後、何事もなかったように、プリンス君開花してくれました。(爆)
こちらはウェディングケーキというバラ。 同じく正常の蕾のように先が尖っていません。
横から見ると正常の蕾の上方が短くなっている。
上から見た感じ
こんな風に、花びらが短く、丸まってしまいます。
なんだかやけに花びらが短くなってしまっています。
これまた我が家に関してですが、ブルヘッドになりやすい傾向のある品種
と、そうでない品種とがあるようです。
たまにこのブルヘッドと貫生花（かんせいか）a>が一緒に出てきて凄いことになったり
するのですが、まあこればかりは気温のせいだったり、なかなかコントロールすることが
難しいので、あまり気にしていません。(苦笑)
ブルヘッド、とくに春先、冷え込む地方でよく見られる現象だと思いますが、
皆さんのところではいかがでしょうか？

悲しいかな よく存じているお顔ですわぁ〜あははぁ！
プリンス様は花あげがよいので許せますが
時々、こういうお顔になられることがありますねぇ。
やっぱり、気温と遺伝子のなせる いたずらなのでしょうねぇ。
こういうこともあるので、
立派に咲いたときの感動が またまた大きくなるんでしょうねぇ♪

こんばんは！
メアリーさんのプリンス君もやはりこんな感じになることがあるのですね。(笑) でもプリンスの場合、蕾は変だけど、開花したら割と普通に咲いた・・・って感じになりませんか？
気温調整は、温室などがない限り無理ですよね・・・。(苦笑) ほんと、品種によって、ブルヘッドになりやすいものがあるみたいですが、虫の被害に比べたら、被害のうちに入らないかもですね。
