AWARD WINNING FILM “THE COVE” INSPIRES TRIP TO JAPAN AND COMPANY’S COMMITMENT TO END THE SLAUGHTER OF DOLPHINS

“We are putting our money where our mouth is, during November Ribbon Naturals will donate 100% of Internet sales to SaveJapanDolphins.org http://helpribbonnaturalssavedolphins.com

- Jim Powers, CEO Ribbon Naturals Corp.

Tampa, Fl — Tim Burns, President of Ribbon Naturals Corporation and his wife immediately booked their airfare to Japan after watching The Cove, the 2010 Academy Award winning film chronicling the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. They flew to Japan to meet up with Ric O’Barry, the voice behind The Cove and Save Japan Dolphins.org. It was difficult to travel to Taiji, especially with the notoriety of the film. They had to be careful throughout Japan, traveling in small groups. Once Tim and his wife arrived at the cove they were even more committed to saving dolphins and spreading the word.

Jim Powers, CEO of Ribbon Naturals, Corp., a distributor of natural vitamins and supplements became outraged when Tim began describing the horrors that take place in Taiji. “I knew we had to make a difference and help save the dolphins. They are one of the most beloved and intelligent animals. We called a company wide meeting and Tim explained the situation. Over 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are killed off the coast of Japan annually and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat. The dolphins that are not slaughtered spend their much-reduced life in captivity being given anti-depressants so they won’t commit suicide. We all agreed that because of the urgency of the situation, we would donate 100% of gross Internet sales of all Ribbon Natural products during November to Save Japan Dolphins.org.” Visit http://helpribbonnaturalssavedolphins.com to learn more about how to save the Dolphins.

Education, awareness and persistence are the keys to ending the slaughtering of dolphins. Ribbon Naturals is committing time and resources to spread the word about this horrific situation. “We created a video about saving the dolphins that is on our web site, http://www.facebook.com/RibbonNaturals http://twitter.com/RibbonNaturals http://www.youtube.com/RibbonNaturals while filming the video dolphins actually swam into the background. It is very moving to see dolphins in the video. Our goal is for all dolphins to be swimming free, not in a cove of blood or captivity. People can help save the dolphins by donating funds, signing the petition for the Japanese government and educating others about how we can work together to help end dolphin abuse,” explains, Jim. Tim and his wife along with Jim plan on going back to Taiji in January as “guardians” of the cove, to continue documenting what is happening. All of there trips are done at their personal expense.
