Magic Online: Compensation Requests and Bug Reporting

Answer ID 668
Magic the Gathering Online   Helpful Links: Compensation Policy, Issue Compensation Policy   Call or ask our Online Response Crew a question.

Welcome to the Wizards of the Coast Issue Submission page.  We are very sorry your play experience was adversely affected by an issue and we would like to make the process of reporting it and/or requesting a refund as easy as possible.  Unfortunately, so we can quickly and efficiently process all requests, there are a few steps we must ask you take.

Before proceeding, you may want to check the Known Card Issues or Known Client Issues pages to see if your bug is already known.  Of course, if you are requesting compensation for the issue, you'll want to continue below.

If you are simply reporting a bug and not requesting compensation because the bug either happened in a casual game or happened in a tournament game but did not affect the outcome, please make sure you are logged into your Wizards of the Coast Help Account.  If you need help with this, please click here.  Then, click on the link at the bottom of this entry.

All compensation requests are processed in accordance with two separate policies.  We ask all players to read and agree to both, even if some of the terms in one or both may not directly apply to your situation.  Clicking on the following will open each policy up in a new window:

Event Compensation Policy - This policy covers tournaments in general, including crashed or cancelled events.

Issue Compensation Policy - This policy covers card or client bugs that directly impact an individual game, not an entire tournament.

The following steps will ensure that you get a prompt and accurate reply to your request.  Please note that while in general you should receive a response within 48 hours, when we are experiencing increased number of requests, this time may be slightly increased.  We will try to keep you as informed as possible if there is going to be a delay.

- Read an indicate your agreement to both the Event Compensation Policy and the Issue Compensation Policy.
- Indicate correctly whether you were in a qualifying sanctioned event at the time of the problem.
- Include both your Event ID and Game ID if applicable.
- Do not include multiple events or multiple requests on the same form.  Please fill out a separate form for each event in which you experience a problem.

- When reporting a bug, please also include this template.
