Some may wonder how in the world a former professional golfer became a restaurant owner on Florida's Forgotten Coast, And why?

The answer is simple. Like so many aspiring golfers, Mike had to work in order to fund his dream of playing the pro circuit on a regular basis. Mike found that work, and a second love, in the Restaurant business.

Once after Mike's professional playing days were over, he was traveling Highway 98 in Franklin County when he came upon an intriguing restaurant on Eastpoint's colorful working waterfront. It was known as "The Seafood Shack" and Mike fell in love with both the eatery and the area. In December of 1996 he purchased the restaurant and "Than Place on 98" was born.
