my cat has major anxiety every time she has to go anywhere in the car, even short distances. i take .5 mg of klonopin and i d feel so much better if my kitty could relax or sleep during the ride. Is it safe? and the dosage for a ten lb cat?
Chosen Answer:
NO.
Absolutely NOT.
Cats have a very delicate metabolism and can’t process medications like humans do… or even like dogs for that matter. The smallest dose of the wrong medication can destroy your cats internal organs to the point of disrepair leading to death.
Never ever give your cat a medication that your vet did not prescribe.

I’ve been on Klonopin for 4 years now. I take 2 to 3 mg a day everyday. I’ve been doing well the last 2 years and am hoping to try to come off of the drug. I’ve heard benzos can be difficult with withdrawal symptoms.
Do you think I will be able to come off of this drug alone, or will I need medical assistance. How difficult should I expect it to be given the amount of time I’ve been on it and the dosage I’ve been taking.
Thanks!
Chosen Answer:
You will defiinitely need medical assistance. Klonopin is probably the strongest benzodiazepine there is. A milligram of Klonopin is equivalent to about eight milligrams of Ativan. If you go off cold turkey right now, you’ll almost definitely have a seizure. There’s a British physician named Heather Ashton who created a protocol for going off benzos. You can look at the manual here: http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/. If you’re going to do it safely and comfortably, it’s going to take about six months. Make sure this is what you want to do, because your doctor may not let you go back on once you’ve started going off.

my dr. just prescribed me it and im used to ambien
i dont want to take this if i am going to get high
can you become intoxicated from abuse??
i have a term paper and i cant write high
Chosen Answer:
klonopin is given to relax your nerves. i found that if i took it and didnt get enough sleep, it lingered the next day. of course everyone is different. the ambien lets you sleep all night long. with klonopin, i found tit to relax me and make me sleepy, but i would wake up in the middle of the night.
wish i had ambien right now.
also i’m not sure you will want to write a term paper on klonopin,

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows if there’s any over the counter supplements that can be used to treat panic attacks and/or depression? I would love to discover some sort of supplements or medicine that would help prevent social anxieties specifically. Maybe I should find some sort of breathing exercises to help keep my heart rate down.
Chosen Answer:
If you’re looking for over the counter supplements to cope with the panic attacks, try St Johns Wort and Omega 3 Fish oil. These 2 supplements have shown to play an important role in brain function.

I’m writing a brief paper about panic disorder and just wanted to clarify something.
Are the recurring panic attacks caused by the same situation each time? Or do the panic attacks happen randomly?
Chosen Answer:
They are caused by the same feelings and thoughts each time but not neccessarily the same situation.
Everytime i am alone at home i might get a panic attack but i can also get them when i’m home with family. I might go to the library and not get panic but i might in the car and next to week might be different again though the thoughts that lead to my panic attack are usually always the same .

I’ve had multiple panic attacks in the past four years since I moved states. I’ve had too many to count this year already and my mom knows I get them. They only last a few minutes but they’re still really scary. I’m almost 16. I also have (unofficial) hypoglycemia, which I know isn’t supposed to be a good mix with panic attacks. What should I do?

I mean I’m the only one in my family that has this disorder so far. I get really worried which I know I shouldn’t but I think is it possible for my daughter to get this.I look at her and pray and hope that she doesn’t get it so I was just wondering. I also want to have more kids but scared that they will get this.
Chosen Answer:
We can never be certain about what disorders might be passed from parent to child…
what we CAN be certain about is to love and support them regardless of what they have.
Never let your fear of illness prevent you from having children…because then, you are allowing the illness to control you instead of you controlling it!
