High-res browser logos

August 4th, 2010

You may want these for a presentation, a, blog post or for the site featuring your brand new awesome lightbox script (please no!). They are 32bit PNGs, each have their own official shadow treatment, and no background matte color.

see below for an update

256 x 256

128 x 128

64 x 64

32 x 32

16 x 16

The smaller sizes are all scaled down instead of taking the true icon assets. If you would like to create proper non-scaled small sizes, I'd gladly accept them. :)

2011.04.13: new chrome, chromium and IE9 logos! (i'll better integrate these later on maybe)

2011.05.19: Peter Lubbers of Kaazing has put all the updated logos together and has all sizes, both individual and group imagery. Also run through OPTIpng! Awesome. http://paulirish.com/lovesyou/new-browser-logos/

Those are great! Thanks. I've been looking for a nice set for a few days.

  2. August 4th, 2010 at 11:44 #2

You can copy the icon from a Finder inspector and hit Command-N in Preview to get the full 512 version.

    Safari 512×512: http://cl.ly/1sbF
    Firefox 512×512: http://cl.ly/1sED
    Chrome 512×512: http://cl.ly/1sl3

Opera has nicest shadow of them all.

  4. August 4th, 2010 at 11:45 #4

Handy dandy! What!?! No super-awesome lightbox script? I'm working on a double lightbox script where you can lightbox a lightbox ;)

  5. August 4th, 2010 at 11:46 #5

Would love to see someone do this, but with consistent drop-shadow treatment. Kills me that each browser has a different "light source" for their logos. Not your fault Paul. Just sayin' as a designer, drives me crazy when using browser icons in presentation slides. :)

  6. August 4th, 2010 at 11:47 #6

    @Trent Walton
It's almost a triple lightbox! What does it meeean?

    August 4th, 2010 at 12:01 #7

Are there SVG versions of these?

  8. August 4th, 2010 at 12:15 #8

    @Darcy
I couldn't find any vector ones, myself.

  9. August 4th, 2010 at 13:43 #9

Actually there are SVG versions for the Chrome and Opera logos:

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d0/Opera_O.svg
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/Chrome_Logo.svg

What I've been looking for is a high-res version of the IE6 logo, but was never able to find one. 48x48px is the highest it gets. (the IE/Mac one is high res, but it's quite different)

  10. August 4th, 2010 at 18:16 #10

Awesome, thanks. One of those things I don't use too often, but always a pain to find when I do.

  11. August 4th, 2010 at 18:31 #11

    its very cool.. thanks

    Thanks! Looking great

  20. August 10th, 2010 at 15:12 #20

  39. July 30th, 2011 at 06:56 #39

Thank you very much Paul for providing these. I am working on a Blog to answer different internet questions. On theme is for sure "browser". So those icons come in very handy!

  40. August 15th, 2011 at 17:56 #40

There's a 700×700 pixel version of the IE8 logo (don't let the url fool you :-) at http://thetechnopath.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/ie9-logo.png but it seems the IE9 team doesn't make it easy representing them as a part of the beautiful web with the other large and beautiful browser icons. :-)

  41. September 23rd, 2011 at 18:22 #41

…and now there is an IE10 1800×1800 logo from the http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/FlyingImages/ demo, at http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/FlyingImages/LargeIELogo.png. High res !== high quality, unfortunately.
