'My Computer' folder icons are stuck in "List" format. (not desktop stuff)
I want only 'My Computer' to show its folder icons in: Tile View - Arranged
by Type - Shown in Groups. I do not want any other folder to hold these
settings.
All other folders display in LIST form and hold their settings nicely. But
My Computer insists on following the list format as well. "Remember each
folders view settings" is checked in "advanced settings". I have set My
Computer to Tile view, blah blah... and closed its window and rebooted!
(hoping windowz would save this one dang setting, to no avail.)
I've done the usual format settings in tools/folder options (Apply to all
folders) a zillion times. I've deleted and had windows rebuild its
origional icon cache - and later had tweakui repair the current icon cache.
Finally, I tried expanding my icon cache size to 4608kb (since I have two
250 gig drives with many icons to recall, I figured it needed more 'room' to
remember).
Generally speaking all of my icons and tweaks are perfect EXCEPT for My
Computer. Can someone point me to a registry key that would force My
Computer to open as: " Tile View - Arranged by Type - Shown in Groups "
.... for all users? Somewhere I should be able to redefine a string or
key to force the icons to comply in 'My Computer' folder, only.
I am entirely comfortable hand editing the registry and will certainly
backup before I plunder.
Many thanks in advance...
