2 edits | How to 'always show thumbnails' as display in 'My Documents? What do you tweak to have the 'My Documents' folder always display the contents as thumbnails?
The default view is always 'tiles' and no matter how many times i change it to 'thumbnail' it still reverts back.
I noticed that there is a folder option
'remember each folders view settings', and it is checked, but i guess it dosent remember.

The answer is different in each case. The issue is usually that you have exceeded the default customization limit settings, and these need to be adjusted upwards.
I will take XP SP2 as the most common case:

Note -- by necessity, it also resets all existing folder customizations to their default state.
