More RSPCA board trouble

TWO more board members have joined the exodus from the RSPCA in Tasmania.

Five directors have quit since 2007 amid concerns over how the organisation is run.

Yesterday, the RSPCA confirmed that Katharine Von Bibra and Bernadette Ulbich-Hooper were leaving the board.

RSCPA media officer Lyndell Whyte said Mrs Von Bibra had been a dedicated member of the board for two years and had served as treasurer and deputy chairman.

"She had several weeks ago decided that she would like to focus her energies on shelter-based activities through the regional branch committee and would step down at this board meeting," Ms Whyte said.

"She made no secret of that so, while sad, it came as no surprise.

"We greatly appreciate the time and energy Katharine has given to the board and the RSPCA and are very pleased she will be staying on to assist the society."

Ms Whyte said Ms Ulbich-Hooper had not yet officially assumed her position on the board.
