When I set the windows explorer to remember each folder's
view settings, it remembers the setting for a while and
then changes by itself. Is there a fix for this bug?
1. How to disable "Remember each folder's view settings" and set 'Details' for folder view
I want to configure a lot of PCs with the folder view settings like "Details". I also need to disable "Remember each folder's view settings". I think this information is stored in Registry in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Cabine tState]. The registry key "Settings" contains a lot of hex values. Sorry, but I cannot find info about what each value represent. Questions: 1: Do you know how to change folder view to "Details" (by changing registry or another way that can be automated / scripted)? 2: Where can I find detailed information about what the different values of the registry key "Settings" means? Thanks Harald
2. Remember each folders view settings is not working.
3. Remember each folder's view settings not working
I have a user's folder view setting set for "Remember each folder's view settings" unders Tools, Folder Options, View. However, when the user makes changes to the view of a particular folder it is not retained. The user can make changes to folder views that are global, but individual folder options are not being remembered by the system. What is the cause of this? What is the fix? Thanks, Bill Allen
4. Remember each folder's view settings
5. 'Remember each folders view settings' dosn't work.
In XP v 5.1 Build 2600 I want Windows Explorer windows narrow enough to set them side by side and have them fit on my monitor screen. But though I have: 'Remember each folders view settings' checked in: Tools > Folder Options > View when I open a folder on my desktop or on a drive that is not my main drive the size has always expanded. If I reset the size it will last for the day but when I reboot the set size is again lost. Also, sometimes the status bar disappears. Is there a way to get Windows Explorer to hold to the configured size and keep the status bar? Like, changing settings in the registry? Thank you, Emory
