I'd like to know why my computer keeps changing it's view settings for each
folder I open? For example: If I click on My Pictures, then click on a folder
I have with photo's in it. set the view settings how I would like it? eg:
View thumbnails. arrange icons by name, and un-check show in groups, this
will change my view settings I have when I open My Computer to the same as
what I changed them in My Pictures. I have set the folder options to Remember
each folders view settings but this has not rectified the problem? Any help
greatly appreciated?

Regards

Run the edit on line 2 left side at this link:

I believe that SP2 will also fix this problem have you considered installing
it?

XP by default will remember 400 folder view settings I believe it's broken
up as 200 system folders and 200 user folders as far as user folders go every
program you install has several folders in it, so 200 view settings will go
very quickly. The edit at the link above will change this from 400 to 8,000,
if your anti-virus program gives you an alert choose to allow the script to
run,
You might want to bookmark this website their is nothing that can go wrong
with XP that the fix is not listed here. The home page is
