:. Over 3000 DOS games upped! (9/2-2011)
I found a large collection of dos classics on a harddrive I've recently reactivated. The collection is 8gb big consisting of some 3000 games. I'm sure there will be plenty of fun stuff for you guys there.

I guess u've also noticed that I've installed a neat little "ROM SEARCH", at the navbar, accessible from all pages. This is to make it more convenient to find stuff fast :) I guess it means more leeching, but thats OK :)

:. Some updates :) (2nd of Feb 2011)
Well, its been like 2 years since I updated the main page of Snesorama :) Not sure why exactly I did now, but I guess I got kinda sick of seeing all the broken images and such, and an old sponsor I used in the past were making tons of pages inaccessable. However, I've fixed most of these issues now, enabling you to visit all the emu sections aswell as other misc sections.

I've been unreachable for many years due to spam, but now I've posted a working/valid email address, incase you wanna contact me for whatever reason. I've also posted a paypal donation button, should anyone out there do such as rare thing as donating :)

As I'm typing this text I'm staggered at how much I suck at english these days. I used to be great at it, but now that I've not posted shit for ages I've really lost my touch.

Anyways, feel free to contact me at the contact page: here

Regards, matrlx

:. New featured PSX game ! :) (27th of Nov)
After getting numerous pm's from a member of our forum SOR, I felt that it was needed to update the featured PSX game :) Other then that, everything is running great here at snesorama. There hasn't been a single glitch in ages, and the server hasn't even been rebooted for as long as I remember :) Probably like months ago or something. Anyways, keep on visiting snesorama, we're always here to provide the games!

:. ALLNDS, great NDS ROMs! (16th of Sept!)
A cool new site with lotsa NDS roms are up over here. They are only starting out though, but they will carry psp isos, NDS ROMs and perhaps more in the future.

:. PSX game of the moment! (23rd of June!)
Changed the game of the moment, and this one is huuuuge :) Enjoy this suckah !!

:. Updates :) (16th Of June!)
Just updated the ps1 game of the moment, I hope you guys enjoy! Also, all paypal buttons were removed for now, as they claim we are selling illegal content, so we had no choice.

There were some downtime yesterday and also a few days before that, and my guess is that the server is having a hard time coping with all the traffic sometimes. Never fear though, just check back a bit later. I'm quick to get it back up when I notice or someone tell me its down. Last time it happened during night though, so I didn't get to fix it untill after work. Thats why it was so lengthy!

Anyways, have a great weekend and enjoy the new PS1 title. I will keep'on posting great RPGs in that spot :)

:. Merry Christmas! (24th of Dec)
I just wanted to wish every visitor a merry christmas and a happy new year! May you recieve whatever you wish for :)

I know its been ages since I posted a news item, but its not like I'm not involved. You can see me daily at the forum! I have plans to expand SnesOrama, but I'm not sure how just yet.

Also, the contact form was broken untill I recently found out and fixed it. So you may now use the contact form if you have anything you wanna say or recommend or whatever.

SnesOrama is now bigger and badder then ever. There's over 3000 PSX ISOs, hundreds of Sega Saturn and DC ISOS and so much more. Its unbelievable how big we've gotten. Just do a search on google and you will see who's baddest when it comes to providing PSX ISOS :) GOOGLE

:. Site move finished... (11th of Aug)
Well, the site move is now finished. I've been doing some work with it daily during my whole week off from work. There weren't that many complications, but I had to learn some new stuff with the other version of Control Panel that I'm currently using on the new server.

The new server has a much higher pricetag, but is also faster and more powerful. With 1GB ram and a 3ghz cpu it should be able to deal with the current volume of traffic quite nicely, even during peak hours.

A new design is actually in the works, for the main page. I was intending to release this upon the launch at the new server, but its not yet done, so it'll come soon. The ROM section contains all the ROMs it did before besides a few titles that were filtered out to avoid pissing off the ESA. The good news is that the ROMs now are back to regular http hosting, which means carefree downloading and faster responce time. The anonymous FTP really didn't work well.

Dont forget to visit the forum, there's now over 2000 psx titles, hundreds of DC titles, MegaCD, SegaCD, TG16CD, SegaSaturn and TONs more! There's currently about 50 new members signing up daily, so there's always someone to party with :)

ROMs back and now over 1100 PSX ISOs (24th of May)
Most of the ROMs are now back. Sadly, there is no longer a size display since the ROMs were all moved to an FTP (hosted locally). However, at least we can provide ROMs now. While we arrange some things, even SEGACD ISOs will be downloadable by all public users...

The server is still slow at times. And we are trying to find a solution to these problems. Somebody is doing some major sabotaging, and needs to die!

We're all at the forums, come! (22th of Jan)
I guess you guys are wondering why there aren't any news beeing posted these days. Well, I'm infact working harder with the site then ever. I'm building the forum up like crazy. We've added an Arcade with hundreds of flash games (with online high scores), we've created shitloads of new sections, and at the moment we feature more then 110 PSX ISO downloads, all categorised and working!

The community is growing by the day, so its time for you to get your arse in there and start to get involved! I'm so busy at the forum I aint got no time to post updates at the news no more :) Of course, I will do that aswell, but all the action is at the forum right now anyway!

And btw, I'm very sorry about the nasty advertising that has been at this site lately. I emailed the sponsor about it, but got no reply. So I was forced to remove the popup code untill this is solved. I will not have such bullshit code running at my site. It's everywhere these days, stay away from it. Errorsafe.com It reports errors which you dont have, only to make you buy their crap software!

Visit da forums with 110 PSX ISOs, hundreds of members, hundreds of Arcade Flash games and so much more!

Out with the old, in with the new! (1st of Jan)
Well, for us europeans another "boring" year has started. I wonder, what exactly are we celebrating? Another year of the same? Well, a new year is ok, but is it really that special, more then an excuse to get wasted? I guess it is to some, to me, its just a number :)

Anyway, I made some updates to the site:
* Forum software updated to 3.5.2 Stable, latest version of Vbulletin.
* Updated MAME emulator to 1.03b and included versions of all sorts of CPU's.
* Updated RAINE to 0.43.2
* Added System 1-32 link which obviously links to the MAME emulator (at the emu section)
* Updated all forums links which previously led to the IP address.
*Added 7 new Legal and free games to the Trade post at the Forum. You should check it out !

Thats its for now. But what I can say is that I'm currently uploading "Harvest Moon" for PSX, which will be a nice addition to the Trade Post. I am very fund of the series, especially the N64 version. So trying it on the PSX will be a delight :)

Happy new year !! (30th of Dec)
The site move is 99% finished now. All ROMs are up and the only thing that remains to be done is setting up the free accounts for the PSX section. All Donation Member accounts are already working (thanks to PrOtOn for helping me with this part)

I sincerely hope that that you will enjoy the new server and what we have to offer. I wanna list a few things that were added in conjunction with the server move.

* Full MAME 1.02 set added (CPS1-3, NeoGeo and System 1-32 excluded)
* Seperate sections for System 1, 16, 18, 32 (all MAME 1.02 with screenshots)
* CPS 1, 2, 3 were updated to MAME 1.02 and screenshots included.

* SET versions were added for most of the arcade systems at the "ROM Selection Menu" so that the visitors may know what emulator version to use.

The new server seems to be running very well. I downloaded some stuff personally at 850kb/sec (server is in Texas while I am in sweden) which is my max speed, which is great considering my distance to the server.

Now I want to wish you a GREAT HAPPY NEW YEAR ! May you have a great one. And dont drink yourself silly, its stupid and makes you unaware of the actual event.

:. If you see this news item... (28th of Dec)
That means ur viewing this page at the new server :) The move probably could've been alot faster if I had known Linux better. I had to learn alot of that stuff since you dont have a gui when managing your server through linux. Some of the tasks can be done in "Plesk", but most of it can't. So it was almost as going back to the age of dos, only all commands were switched :) For instance, in DOS you use "move" and "copy", while in Linux you use "mv" and "cp", for whatever reason :) I got pissed off at many occasions, as nothing seemed to work in the beginning :)

All is well now though, and at the time of writing this I'm unpacking the Amiga set to the new server. This beast aint small, but since I could move the set between servers, going at around 10mbit, one big .tar file, it went pretty fast transferring and unpacking it.

For most users this new server will be faster to use. Both with downloads and browsing. The server has a 100mbit connection aswell as a powerful P4 2.6 Ghz which should be more then adequate with our current amount of traffic.

Why are we better then most other emulation sites?
* No spyware or porn banners!
* All ROMs are hosted on a dedicated server with no download speed cap.
* No forced anything!
* We are extremely dedicated!
* We have TONs of ROMs :) Over 50,000 files, about 60GB worth.
