Yoko Ono paid her first visit to Fukushima Tuesday since the March nuclear disaster to meet local children ahead of a charity concert in Tokyo.
The Japanese-born widow of Beatles star John Lennon visited an elementary school in Fukushima city, where some 30 pupils from Minami Soma city have transferred after evacuating their houses near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
"All the people in the world are thinking of you," Ono told the students, Jiji Press said.
New York-based Ono is in her native country for a live charity concert with Japanese artists taking place on Thursday.
The concert is to raise money to build schools in poor countries.
