Fracking awesome. Now you need to SBR it, put a stubby wire stock on it and make the scorpion that should have been.

Wonder what the muzzle velocity will be. Rifle powder burns awefully slow. But just imagine the muzzle flash!!!

In my opinion that is the best combo of ideas for a pistol build I have seen in along time. Do you have a holster for it to concel carry?

Very nice, do you put a front strap (like the MAC SMG) to control it?

Would be a fun post sample!

Reminds me of the G3 pistol pic I saw... the tip of the round extended past the muzzle!

THAT IS RICKGODDAMNDICULOUS!!!

I LOVE IT. I MUST HAVE ONE.

Good work dude. I guess I have something to do with my amd nubs and misc parts drawer stuff. Even the pistol grip is awesome. Would love some details on carrier there can't be a gas piston on it...or do you glue a 1/64th inch sliver on the carrier

It needs a small break on it...how about this one?

The piston is threaded and screws in the carrier and loctited[can't rivet it because the 1/8 guide rod passes thru it]the back side is concave for the rod to find the hole blind and the rod protrudes out of the gas block.this design i borrowed from slamfire51..the pistol king and the inspiration from seeing AZHONKEYs builds

Is the guide rod even necessary? Could you just taper that plug in the end to fit into the gas block? Seems like the reason there is even a gas piston is to move the energy from the cartridge to the bolt. Without all that intervening space, seems like it is needless.

Yes you need the rod to keep the carrier from cocking crooked when it's preloaded under the spring pressure and it steers the piston into it's nest.a stock ak carrier relies on the length of the carrier and piston to guide it straight and at full travel it never leaves the sight block.the sight block and gas tube keep the carrier straight till it finds the gas block.

Now, is the recoil spring full length or have you cut it down to acheive reliability? Does the spring just freely slide on the rod and retain by the carrier or is there a retainer Im not seeing? What size is your gas port?

the spring is cut and just slides over the rod.the spring was cut by observing it at full recoil the coils should not bind against each other when compressed.i think about 4 inches.I peeked at one of my other ak's to see how the coil spacing was at full recoil to get a bench mark.

Did you have any problems with the bolt carrier hitting the rear trunnion too hard? The gas port looks way too big to be that close to the chamber.
