Toronto cops: Four women gang raped repeatedly by six men

By Karen Mullins

TORONTO – Six men are accused of gang-raping four women over several months and police say drugs were administered in some cases for sexual purposes.

Police have arrested three of the accused gang rapists and have issued a nation-wide arrest warrant for three other men after four women came forward one by one to tell a sordid story of their ordeal at the hands of men they said they met at a Korean Church.

The sex crimes unit began a major investigation in February when one of the victims came forward. Subsequently three other women surfaced who had been brutalized by the same group, police said.

Police allege the gang sexual assaults began in the fall of 2009 and continued until February 2009 – apparently ending when police began the investigation.

According to Det. Deborah Harper, one of the victims is underaged. She said the women were repeatedly raped.

She also said in an interview that police cannot divulge all the information at this time.

Between March 11 and March 16 three men were arrested by the Sex Crimes Unit. The men face a total of 67 charges.

Hyung Jun Ha, 26, of Toronto, Jong Il Lee, 33, of Orangeville, and Sang Cheol Lee, 37, of Toronto have been charged with administering drugs for sex, threatening death, forcible confinement, assault and gang sexual assault. Hyung Jun Ha is also accused of making child pornography and assault. Sang Cheol Lee is also charged with making child pornography.

There have been Canada-wide warrants issued for Jin Hyun Kim, 33, Yoon Hyun Cho, 26, and Jung Jay Lee, 26, all of Toronto.

  1. I’m South Korean and if the meadia reported this incident it is from South Korea.
I do not think it is accurate news because the women who said they were raped have lack of evidents. One of the students who were accused by the pastor of injecting drugs is a student who does not have enough knowledge to even make drugs. Why would the men wanna rape the women who have known for years, hung out everywhere and even used to live in the same apartment. The church they used to hang out and went is not even register on Korean Canadian church.
The pastor is not qualified even registered on any Korean church community in Canada. It is sad this happens to Korean students who just want to achieve their dreams in Canada going to church and try to live with faith. Church is a community for people to get healed and loved not accused even assaulted.

  2. I think somewhat of the story is true, but I found that North American media give inaccurate news sometimes due to their limited access to Asian ppl
