He is hard to rate. Here's my take- he is very biased towards pretty young chicks so if that means you, take him, he already likes you so speak a little and you're great. If you need to lose between 10-20 pounds don't take him bc I'm pretty sure he has a thing against fat girls. Not being rude, just honest. Also- the textbook is your bible.
Honestly, Alzola is a tough teacher to judge for a ratemyprofessor. He's a nice guy, and (on the surface) seems to want students to do well. I just don't know if he understands what that entails. His tests are harder than I think he wants them to be, and the participation thing, he knows pisses people off. I think he'll get better with experience.
The comments below were almost certainly written by Alzola himelf, or I dont know what those kids were high on when they wrote what they did. Alzola is an extremely subjective, unfair and unforgiving grader. He also insists on class participation and he literally checks everyday. Avoid at all costs. You'll break your back for a B in a core class.
Professor Alzola is by far the best professor I've had at Fordham. He is a hard grader but he ACTUALLY cares about his students, which is rare from a Fordham professor. I really enjoyed his class and his enthusiasm! Definitely take him!
Best class I have had at fordham thus far. Great proff. Class material is really interesting. Good class discussions. Just be prepared to participate in this class, which is not hard the class is mostly discussion. Great guy cares about what he teaches and the welfare of his students. If you read and participate the class is a breeze.
