Reporting Inappropriate Content
Several of our products, such as YouTube, Buzz, Blogger and Picasa Web Albums, provide ways
for you to create, post and share your own content. With over 24 hours of video uploaded to
YouTube and 270,000 words written in Blogger every minute, you can imagine why we can’t
pre-screen content. This is why we count on our millions of community users to report abuse
and inappropriate content. You can find out what types of content aren’t allowed in our
Terms of Use and Program Policies for our various products. We’ve created tools that let
you notify us if you find content that shouldn’t be on the site. Here’s a quick guide to
reporting inappropriate content in some of our most popular products.
-
YouTube
- If you find a video you think violates our Community Guidelines, click on the
“Flag” link directly below the video.
- You can specify the reason why you think the content is inappropriate, and then
click on “Flag This Video”.
- The video will then be reviewed by our team, who will remove the video if it
violates our Terms of Use, or will age restrict it if it’s not suitable for teens.
- Remember that you can screen content which meets our Community Guidelines but which
you’d rather not see by using YouTube Safety Mode.
-
Buzz
- If someone posts a comment on your Buzz account you can delete the comment, as well
as edit and delete any posts that you make on Buzz.
- If you see a post that doesn’t meet our Content
Policies, report it. Click on the drop down arrow at the right of the offending
Buzz post, choose “Report abuse” and select the reason why you’re reporting it.
-
Picasa Web Albums
- If you see a photo or album that we should investigate, please let us know. Next to
every image viewable from the Picasa Web Albums site there is a “Report abuse” link.
- Clicking this link will open a dialogue box asking you to specify the reason for
reporting.
- Our team will then review the photos. If they are found to be inappropriate, we may
remove them or disable the account of the person who posted them. See our Terms of Service.
-
Blogger
- When reading blogs hosted by Blogger, users can flag any material they feel
violates Blogger’s policies.
- If you find a blog hosted on blogspot.com that you feel is inappropriate, simply
click the “Report Abuse” link at the top of the window.
- If the blog violates Blogger’s Terms of
Service, infringes other people’s copyright, or promotes dangerous and illegal
activities, we will remove the blog; if it contains adult content, we will insert an
interstitial warning page.
