Q. What is pixiv?: A. pixiv is a community where illustrators or people who have an interest in illustration can easily talk about their artwork or post their own illustrations or illustrations they are authorized to post. Please read "About pixiv" for details.
Q. How much does it cost to use this service?: A. The basic functions are free to use. Paid services are also available to users who enjoy pixiv and want to use advanced functions.
Q. What does the name "pixiv" stand for?: A. It doesn't have any meaning.

Q. I can't register or log in.: A. Passwords are case sensitive. Please check your password again.
Q. I'd like to close my pixiv account.: A. Please consult the help screen of your computer, "To resign from pixiv". Note that once you close your account, all your artworks and data will be deleted.

Q. I can still browse illustration marked R-18 (R rating) even though I restricted access to age restricted works.: A. Age restricted works aren't determined by the R-18 (R rating) tag, but rather determined by if the artwork is marked as "sexual" or "grotesque". If a work isn't tagged, you can view it, even those marked R-18.
Q. How do you rank illustrations?: A. We gather statistics on views, evaluations and bookmarks from 0:00 to 23:59:59 everyday, and rank using our ranking algorithm "pixiv rank β". The result reflects at 6:00 every morning. We can't answer questions about evaluating elements or methods of the algorithm.
Q. How do I use the search function?: A.
・ When searching for "AAA"

Enter the keyword and search

・ "And" search; when searching for two keywords "AAA" and "BBB"

Enter a space between keywords and search

・"Minus" search; when searching for "AAA" without "CCC"
Entry：AAA - CCC
Enter "-" before the word you want to eliminate and search.

・"OR" Search; when searching for AAA or BBB
Entry：AAA OR BBB
Enter OR before the keywords and search.

・Keywords + "OR" Search; when searching for BBB or CCC of AAA
Entry：AAA (BBB OR CCC)

The search function is not case sensitive.
For instance, "aaa" and "AAA" yields the same result.

Q. What are the evaluation criteria?: A. You can evaluate freely as you think.
Q. What happens if I evaluate?: A. Daily or weekly ranking is updated on the top page based on evaluations and other criteria. We believe that evaluations by many users bring up comprehensive results. Please don't get angry if your illustrations receive bad evaluations...

Q. If I add a bookmark, can the contributor notice?: A. You can choose to show a bookmark in public or to hide it. If you choose to show a bookmark in public, it will be shown who bookmarked on the bookmark detail page. This information won't appear if you choose to hide the bookmark.

Q. What is a following?: A. If you add a user to the following, new illustrations from this user will be displayed in "New from following". You can hide your following, but in this case new illustrations from your following will not be shown.
Premium members can see new illustrations even if their following is hidden.
Q. If I add a user to my following, does he notice?: A. You can choose to show your following in public or to hide them. If you hide your following, users won't notice you added them to your following. ※ New illustrations won't display when you choose hide, while they will be displayed for premium users.

Q. What is friends?: A. Friends is a place where your can meet friends or fellows on pixiv.
Q. How can I add a person to friends?: A. Adding to friends is not available at this moment.

Q. About publication on magazines or other medias.: A. Publication about pixiv on websites or magazines doesn't need our permission. However, we'd like to know how pixiv is introduced. If you let us know about your publication on pixiv, we can also introduce your site.
