How to Monitor URLs

Several websites offer a free online service that can track the changes on websites you are interested in. For example, blogs, news websites and shopping websites all have content that you may want to keep track of. Instead of navigating to each website every day, you can use the online service to monitor the URL of the website you want to track and be notified only when a change occurs.

Difficulty:
Moderately Easy

Instructions

    • 1

Go to a website that offers website monitoring services. ChangeDetect, Watchthatpage and ChangeDetection are examples of websites that offer a free online URL tracking service.

    • 2

Click the "Sign Up" or "Register" button on the home page of the website you choose to use. Fill out the registration form with your personal and contact information, then click "Submit."

    • 3

Add the URLs of the websites you want to monitor in the "Address" box, then select how you want to receive notification of any changes. For example, select "Email" and choose how often you want to receive email updates. Click the "Save" or "Apply" button.
