Weird Keyboard Problem

A couple of times now, I've had the odd problem that suddenly my keyboard goes a bit weird, and I have to hold down ewach key a while for it to input the letter. Not knowing what do, I've just restarted X. But I just found a section in the Control Centre called "Slow Keys", and it turns out that enabling and redisabling that sorts out the problem... does anyone have any idea how I can stop it doing this?

Oh, no, it was the same with any keyboard I plugged in - so must be a software problem.

In KDE slow keys are enabled when you keep the shift key pressed for more than a few secs...

Hello Black_Monkey,

One of my client had similar kind of problem in KDE, then she resolved it by following way

1) open control center
2) Regional and accesibility=>Keyboard filters
3) Uncheck "use slow key"
4) Done !!

Regards,
Dipak Madaria

@aspl - yeah, point is, it was already disabled, it just randomly turns itself on, and doesn't say it's on in the control centre.

@LocutosOfBorg - ah, thanks, looks like that's it, as sometimes random keys get stuck on my keyboard... odd that it doesn't show it as on in the control centre. Just found the "Use gestures for sticky keys and slow keys" checkbox, it was checked. Hopefully that's sorted now.
