Ending 1 - Suimusou Ending

――博麗神社。幻想郷の辺境に存在している神社である。
鳴く為に、ずっと地中で耐えてきた蝉。
体内の熱を外に放出するかの如く啼く、鳥や獣達。
幻想郷の夏はこんなにも騒がしかったのか……。 		---Hakurei Shrine. A shrine on the edge of Gensokyo.
Cicadas forever waited under the soil to burst out and cry.
Beasts and birds bellowed and chirped as if
attempting to rid their bodies of heat.
The summers of Gensokyo were so noisy...
長い間続いた宴会はいつの間にか回数を減らし、幻想郷はいつもの平穏さを
取り戻していた。
幻想郷では、イレギュラーであった存在もすぐに溶け込んでしまう。
それが良い事なのかどうかは判らなかったが…… 		The feasts which had gone on for a long while dwindled in number,
and Gensokyo was back to normal.
An irregularity in Gensokyo was assimilated into society instantly.
Don't know if that's a good thing...
良い事だと思っていた。
少なくとも霊夢はそう考えていた。 		`I think it's a good thing,` thought Reimu.

Reimu 暑いわねぇ……今年も。
こんなに暑いんじゃ、掃除する気も失せるわ。
お茶でも入れようかなぁ……。
暑い時は熱いお茶ってね。ぬ～ 		This year... is also hot...
I don't want to sweep in such heat...
I guess I'll go get some tea.
Tea's best for hot days. *sigh*
Reimu それにしても、幻想郷には良く判らない奴が多いわねぇ。
あいつもよく判らない奴だったわ。
何が目的だったのかも判らないし……
それに私は負けたのにねぇ…… 		Also... there are a bunch of people
I don't understand in Gensokyo.
I don't understand her well either.
What was her motive...　I lost too...
Reimu まぁ、力仕事の時はどこからとも無く来てくれたり、
お酒を持ってきてくれたり……親切な奴ね 		Well, she comes out of nowhere whenever
I need grunt work done,
and she brings sake with her...
what a nice person.
萃香は、何処に住んでいるのかも判らなかったが、ちょくちょく神社に遊び
に来ていた。
でも、本来はイレギュラーな存在である。
溶け込んでしまうのは、幻想郷の力か、それとも霊夢の力なのか。 		Although no one knew where Suika lived,
she came to the shrine to play every once in a while.
But, she was an irregularity.
Was her assimilation due to Gensokyo, or due to Reimu?

Suika 暑いよぉ。水でも撒いてよぉ～ It's so hot... pour some water!
Reimu あれ、いつの間に後ろに？
で、水はあっち 		Eh? When'd you get behind me? The water's over there.
Suika 私に撒けって言うのね。全く、鬼使いが荒いんだから I meant on me. Jeez, you treat oni too harshly...
Reimu 鬼、鬼、って言うけど……
鬼はもう幻想郷には居られなくなって、ここから出て行ったんじゃな
かったの？ 		You keep on calling yourself an oni...
but I thought oni left Gensokyo already, didn't they?
そう、今の幻想郷には鬼は居なかった。
居ない筈だった。 		Yes, there were no oni left in Gensokyo.
There shouldn't be any left in Gensokyo.
その昔、鬼と人間は命を懸けた強い信頼関係で成り立っていた。
強い信頼関係、即ち「人攫い」と「鬼退治」である。 		In the past, oni and humans relied on each other extremely strongly.
Their deep, trusting bond was known as
`kidnapping` and `extermination.`
……だが悲しい事に人間は、姿形は変わらなくても、心は変わる。
鬼が、鬼だけが棲むという鬼の国に居る間に……
段々と人間は鬼の存在を忘れていったのだった。 		...but sadly, while the faces
of humans did not change, their hearts did.
Oni went away into their own world...
and slowly, humans forgot about them.
Suika 確かに、私達の仲間は滅多に人前には出て来ないけど……
私は賑やかなのが大好きだから、今の幻想郷は魅力的過ぎるの 		True, my friends rarely show themselves in front of humans...
but I love merrymaking and Gensokyo was just too attractive.
Reimu 賑やかねぇ……。
でも私は、たまには静かにお茶でも飲みたいと思ってるわ 		Merrymaking... but I'd like to just sip tea
in peace and quiet once in a while.
Suika もっと私の仲間も、人前に出てくるようになれば良いのに It'd be better if we showed ourselves more to humans.
Reimu それは駄目 No.
Suika だって……毎晩が百鬼夜行よ？ But... it'd be pandemonium every night?
Reimu だって、毎晩が鬼退治になるじゃない But... I'd have to exterminate oni every night.
今の人間に足りない物は、鬼が持つ『誠実さ』なのかもしれない。
そんな嘘吐きだらけの人間を、殆どの鬼は見捨ててしまったのか。
萃香は、鬼の中でも自分勝手で誠実さにもやや欠けるところがあったので、
どちらかと言うと異端児だったのだ。 		Right now, what oni possessed which humans lacked
was probably `sincerity.`
The onis abandoned the lying humans.
Suika lacked a certain amount of truthfulness,
and so she was an outcast.
だから、イレギュラーでもすぐ馴染む。
本来鬼と人間は、人攫いと鬼退治という信頼関係で成り立っているべきだと
言うのに。 		That's why, even though she was an irregularity,
they soon got used to her.
Even though oni and humans originally established
a reliance upon each other in the form of
kidnapping and extermination.
萃香は、仲間を幻想郷に戻すチャンスだったのに、失敗してしまったのだ。
萃香は人を萃めるだけではなく、人を攫う必要があったのだ。 		Suika had a chance to return her friends to Gensokyo, but she failed.
She failed because she needed to kidnap humans,
not just entrance them.
失敗したのは、自らの未熟さが原因か？
それとも、陽気さか？　ほんのちょっとの不誠実さか？
――本当の理由は、霊夢の能力だった事は誰も気が付かなかった。
Ending No.1 (Suimusou Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Was it because she was too immature? Or was it her optimism?
Or rather, was it because she was just a little bit insincere?
---The real reason was Reimu's power.
No one noticed that.
Ending No. 1 (Suimusou Ending) -----Congratulations!

Ending 2 - Yukari Ending

――博麗神社。幻想郷の辺境に存在している神社である。
予定通り行われた宴会はいつもより盛大な物となった。
何故なら、いつもは居なかった紫と萃香、それと……
不思議な瓢箪が加わったからである。 		---Hakurei Shrine. A shrine that exists on the edge of Gensokyo.
The feast was much larger than the previous ones.
It was because both Suika and Yukari,
who were normally not present, were there.
In addition... there was a miraculous gourd
最初は酒を取り上げられた事で一触即発な雰囲気を醸し出していたが、
紫と萃香が乱入すると、紫に持っていかれたお酒も無事だと判り、すぐにそ
の場は収まったのである。現金なものだ。 		Since the party's sake had been stolen, everyone was high-strung.
Yukari and Suika barged into the party,
and everyone agreed that Yukari's sake was acceptable.
The situation was immediately put under control--- with money.
紫はみんなにお酒を奪った理由を、萃香が持っている鬼宝「伊吹瓢」を、
奪う為のおとりに使った、と説明したのだった。 		Yukari stole everybody's sake because
she wanted Suika's treasure, the Ibuki Gourd.

Reimu 凄い……。この瓢箪、幾らでもお酒が出てくるわ Amazing... this gourd pours out as much sake as you want.
Marisa 瓢箪の中を見てみたいぜ Lemme look inside that.
Sakuya アルコールランプにも使えるかもしれないですわ You could use that as an alcohol lamp.
　みんな、無限にお酒が涌いて出てくる不思議な瓢箪に夢中だった。 Everyone was entranced by the magical gourd
that poured endless amounts of sake.
Remi あれ？　もう出て来なくなったけど…… Huh? There's no more...
Marisa うわ！何やってるんだよ。中身を捨てるな、勿体無いなぁ Woah! What are you doing, don't dump that! What a waste.
Reimu 大丈夫。そこの砂利は水捌けが良いの No worries. We'll just use that gravel as drainage.
Marisa 幾ら無限に涌くったってなぁ It'll keep on flowing, eh?
Suika あ～ひっくり返しちゃ駄目～。
TILTが働いたのね。
転倒防止で一度に瓢箪以上の量は出て来ない様になってるの。
そういう時は栓をして振ると…… 		Ah~~ you can't do that. The `TILT` is on.
In order to stop it from spilling, you can't pour
more than one gourd's worth of liquor at a time.
After that, you put the cap on and...
Remi あ、チャプチャプ音がしてきた！ Ah, I hear something!
Suika ね、すぐに満たされるの。心のスキマ See? It fills up right away.
Sakuya って、また捨ててはいけません。お行儀が悪いですわ Hey, don't pour that! Such bad manners.
Remi だって……面白いじゃないの But it's so interesting...

Yuyuko ところで、紫がさっき言っていた理由……。
本当は違うんでしょ？ 		Speaking of which... the reason you gave earlier...
it's not that, is it?
Yukari このお漬物は美味しいわね Mm, these pickled vegetables are good.
Youmu 神社の漬物だそうですよ。それよりもあの瓢箪、凄いですね！ These are the shrine's. But really, that gourd is amazing!
Yukari そうでしょう？
だから何とかして引っ張り出そうとしたの 		Isn't it? That's why I tried to draw her out.
Yuyuko いつから妖怪はこんなに嘘吐きばかりになったのかしら？ Since when have youkai been such good liars?
「伊吹瓢」と呼ばれたこの瓢箪は、見た目は普通、もしくは普通以下の瓢箪
だったが、その不思議さでは群を抜いていた。
それもその筈、この道具は鬼の品だったのだ。 		This gourd, known as the `Ibuki gourd,`
didn't look like anything special.
In fact, it looked less than average,
but it had an amazing ability that set it apart.
It was an Oni's tool.
Patchy それにしても、何で瓢箪なのかしら？ Why a gourd, of all things?
Alice そんなの簡単じゃない。
くびれている部分にビー玉が入っているのよ 		That's obvious. There's a marble in the middle.
Youmu って、ラムネじゃないんだから Hey, this isn't Ramune...
Patchy そういう意味じゃなくて……
何で剣じゃ無いんだろうと思ったの 		That's not what I meant...
I was wondering why it wasn't a sword.
Alice 剣？何言ってるの？　剣からお酒？ Sword? What are you talking about,
you don't pour sake from a sword...
Youmu って、何で剣から何かが出る必要があるのよ。剣は斬る物！ Hey, swords are used for CUTTING THINGS.
There's no need for anything to come out of a sword.
Patchy お酒好きの化け物を、お酒で釣って退治して出てくるものって……
剣でしょ？ 		A sword... isn't that what they used to
kill a sake-loving monster after luring him out with sake?
Yukari あら、私はスサノオね Aha, I'm Susanoo~
暫くの間ずっと連続していた宴会も、この宴会を境に減っていくだろう。
最も盛り上がったこの宴会を最後に。
紫以外には宴会の回数が減った理由も、そもそも多かった理由も判らなかっ
た…… 		Both this feast and the feasts that have been going on
were most likely fading away.
This party, the largest of them all, will go on until the end.
No one other than Yukari understood why
these feasts were becoming less frequent...
萃香も伊吹瓢も、今の幻想郷には居ないはずの代物だった。
別の世界のものは、既に調和の取れた幻想郷に取って、異物でしかない。
外来品と同じで、余り流れ込み過ぎては、閉ざされた幻想郷には良くないの
である。 		The Ibuki Gourd and Suika were both things
that shouldn't exist in Gensokyo anymore.
In the eyes of harmonious Gensokyo,
foreign objects were nothing but strange.
だから、転倒防止機能が働いてお酒も一気には流れ出ないのだ。 It wasn't good for Gensokyo, which had been isolated for so long,
to suddenly experience a huge influx of foreign things.
That's why the gourd wouldn't pour more than one cup at a time.
力も同じだった。
萃香の力も誰も止めないまま、あのまま流れ続けていたら……。
転倒防止機能が働いてしまって居たのかも知れない。
Ending No.2 (Yukari Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Just like power.
If Suika's power kept on manifesting itself unchecked...
Sooner or later, it might trigger its own failsafe.
Ending No. 2 (Yukari Ending) -----Congratulations!

Ending 3 - Reimu Good Ending

もうすっかり春の空気は流れ去り、風は夏の空気を循環させていた。
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、段々と回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		---Hakurei Shrine. A shrine on the edge of Gensokyo.
The spring air left, and the summer breeze blew.
The feasts which had continued uninterrupted
since the flower-viewing occurred less and less.
Some thought the number of feasts happening

Reimu あー、暑いったらありゃしない。
この日差しの強さはおかしいわね。また何者かの仕業かしら 		Ah... it's too hot. This summer sun is weirdly strong.
Could it be someone else's doing this time...
Reimu って、妖怪や幽霊は日光に弱い奴も多いし、そんな訳無いか」
「前よりは頻度は減ったけど、今晩、また宴会よねぇ」
「これもあんたの仕業かしら？ 		Wait, youkai and ghosts are weak to sunlight, so it can't be them.`
`They've been happening less and less frequently...
but there's a feast tonight.`
`Did you do this?

Suika 違うわよぉ。これはあの黒いのの自由意志でしょう？
元々、みんな賑やかなのが好きなだけなのよ 		Not me. This was the idea of that black-wearing woman.
Everyone loves merrymaking anyways.
Reimu 喧しいのと、賑やかなのを一緒にされてもねぇ Merrymaking and noise always go together, though...
Reimu 大体、宴会の次の日に裏庭をみるとげんなりするのよ Besides, on the day after the party,
I'll be irritated just looking at the grounds.
Suika 死体でも埋ってた？ Will there be buried corpses?
Reimu 散らかすだけ散らかして、それでみんな帰っちゃうから Everything would be messed up, then everyone would go home.
Suika バラバラ死体ね。うーん、猟奇的 Scattered corpses. Mmhmm, grotesque.
Reimu そうか。あんたが居るじゃない Right. You're here, aren't you?
Suika 居るよ、さっきから I've been here.
Reimu 今夜からさぁ、宴会後のごみを集めといてよ Starting from tonight,
I want you to collect the trash after the feasts.
Suika そんな事……
お安い御用よ。ねぇタダ酒呑めるんだもん 		Hmm... sure. You're only going to be drinking anyways.
Reimu 誰がタダって言ったのよ！ Who said we'd only be drinking!
Suika ほら、早速誰か来たわ。そろそろ宴会の時間かしら？ See, someone's coming. Is it almost time?
Reimu それじゃぁ、よろしく頼むわよ Alright, I'm counting on you.
Suika あの黒いのがバラバラ死体になるから、萃めて戻せばいいのね。
楽勝よ 		If that black one becomes a dismantled corpse,
I'll just gather her together and return her back to normal.
Simple.
Reimu ……それでも良いや ...that's... nice.
岩を砕くと、幾つかの石が生まれる。
石を砕くと小石になり、さらに砕くと砂になる。
砂は、粒単体の事を示すわけではない。萃まって一つの砂になるのだ。 		When a boulder is smashed, many rocks form.
Rocks turn into pebbles, pebbles into sand.
Sand can not be expressed in measure.
If we gather sand together, it becomes sand.
物は分散させ過ぎるとまた一つの物になる。
バラバラ死体も、究極までバラバラにすれば……
それはまた死体とは別の物になるのかも知れない。
Ending No.3 (Reimu Good Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Objects become one when you scatter them enough.
If we take a dismantled corpse and keep on splitting it...
That corpse might become something else.

Ending 4 - Marisa Good Ending

――魔法の森にある霧雨邸。
森は夏の日差しを受け止め、高い湿度と引き換えに涼しい温度を提供する。
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、段々と回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		---Kirisame House, Forest of Magic.
The forest stopped the rays of the summer sun,
and brought cool temperatures to the forest
in exchange for high humidity.
The feasts, which had continued ever since
the spring flower viewings, became

Marisa 暇だな。
暇な時は何処に行くのが吉だって言ってたっけ？ 		I'm free. Don't they say it's good luck to go somewhere
when you have free time?
Marisa それにしても……
鬼、ねぇ。ほんとに居たんだな。
これはラッキーだったのか、大ラッキーだったのか 		Also... oni, eh? They actually exist.
I wonder if that's good luck or REALLY good luck.

Marisa 薬の材料になるのか、それとも何か別の効果があるのか。
ちょっと判らんな。珍品だし 		Wonder if it can become a potion ingredient,
or if it has some sort of special ability.
I dunno... they're rare.
Marisa 香霖にでも聞いてみるか。
……『あー、こんなもの大した物でもないな。処分してやるよ。』
とか言って持っていきそうだな。あいつなら。
いいや、暫らく自分で研究してみるか 		I'll try asking Kourin.
...`Oh, this isn't something special. I'll take care of it.`
is what he'd say.
Nah, I'll do some research on my own for now.
魔理沙の研究ノートに新しい項目が追加された。
鬼の項目である。
現在の鬼の事は一部の妖怪を除いて、殆ど知る者は居ない。 		Marisa added a new entry to her research notes: Oni.
Apart from some youkai, no one knew much about oni these days.
Marisa おお？鰯の頭を近づけると気化しようとするな。
ふむ。これなら期待できるぜ。
ちょっと待ってな。大豆を一袋買って来るから 		Huh? Don't vaporize when I bring a sardine head near you.
Hrm. I have an idea. Wait up, I'll go buy some beans.
幻想郷に生きるものの寿命は、人間に比べはるかに長い。
その為、知識を誰かに伝える事も残す事も必要としないのである。
本の形になっているグリモワールは、知識を込めた本とは根本的に違い、
本そのものがマジックアイテムなのだ。 		The denizens of Gensokyo lived longer than humans.
Because of that, there was no need to record knowledge.
The Grimoire, which became a book, was not a book of knowledge,
but rather, a magic item.
人間は、基本的に自分で調べるか、妖怪に訊かないと知識は増えない。
魔理沙は、人間が持つ鬼に対しての知識は、既にかなり低い物になっている
事を思い知らされた。
Ending No.4 (Marisa Good Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Basically, humans couldn't increase their knowledge
if they did research by themselves without asking youkai.
Marisa understood that humans had an extremely low
amount of knowledge about oni.
Ending No. 4 (Marisa Good Ending) -----Congratulations!

Ending 5 - Sakuya Good Ending

――悪魔の居る紅い館。紅魔館。
夏の日差しは、最も強いが真上から降り注ぐ為、この館の主にとっては好都
合だった。
何故なら、屋根や日傘が日光を遮るのに都合が良いからである。 		---The house of the devil, Scarlet Devil Mansion.
To the lady of the mansion, the summer sun
beating its rays down upon the mansion was good.
It was good for her because somehow,
her parasol and the roof blocked all sunlight.
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		The feasts that had continued uninterrupted
ever since the flower-viewing dwindled in number.
Some thought there was just the right amount
of feasting going on now.

Sakuya あの子、鬼って言ってたわね。
鬼は……
鬼の国に住んでいて、殆ど幻想郷には来ないって聞いてたけど…… 		That girl said she was an oni.
Oni... I've heard they live in their own land
and don't come to Gensokyo very much...
Sakuya 不思議ね。ここの本に鬼の事書いてある物が殆ど無いわ。
まぁ、殆ど何の事について書かれてるのか判らないけど 		It's unbelievable. There's almost nothing
about oni in this book.
Well, I don't understand much of what this book
is talking about anyways.

Patchy 珍しいね。お勉強？ How rare. Studying?
Sakuya ええ。ちょっと…… Yeah, just a bit...
Patchy その辺の本、触るだけで危険だからあんまり近寄らない方が良い Just touching the books around here is dangerous.
Don't get too close.
Sakuya そうだ。パチュリー様 Oh, Miss Patchouli?
Patchy 何？ What?
Sakuya 鬼についてなんか知ってること無いでしょうか？
どんな小さな事でも良いんですけど 		Do you know anything about oni?
Any little thing would be fine.
Patchy 知らない I don't know.
Sakuya そ、そうですか Is.. is that so.
Patchy そう言えば、前の宴会騒ぎ。……あれは一人の鬼の仕業よ Oh, that's right...
the whole feast incident was the work of one oni.
Sakuya って、知ってたんですか？ Wait, you knew?
Patchy 知らない。咲夜、今日は紅茶じゃなくて珈琲にして。
良く煎った豆でね 		I don't know. Sakuya, don't give me red tea today,
give me coffee brewed from good beans instead.
紅魔館のお茶の時間は、殆ど紅茶である。
だが、一人だけ周期的に珈琲を飲む者がいた。
そのサイクルは不明だったが、今日何となく判った様な気がする。
Ending No.5 (Sakuya Good Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Usually, tea time at the Scarlet Devil Mansion meant red tea.
But, there was one person who periodically drank coffee.
Although the cycle wasn't clear, Sakuya felt that
she understood it somewhat today.
Ending No.5 (Sakuya Good Ending) -----Congratulations!

Ending 6 - Youmu Good Ending

――空気の色が異なる世界、冥界。
夏の暑さを感じさせない色ではあるが、暑いものは暑い。
ただ、ここ冥界の夏と顕界の夏と、一つだけ異なる事があった。 		---The underworld, where even the air was a different colour.
While it didn't look that hot, it was still hot.
There was one strange thing going on, however.
それは、蝉の姿は見えるのに、蝉の鳴き声が聞こえない事。
忙しない蝉の鳴き声は、まさに生の象徴なのである。
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、段々と回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		There were cicadas, but they were not crying.
The busy crying of cicadas was proof that they were still alive.
The frequency of feasts, which had continued ever since
the time of the flower-viewings, had decreased.
Some thought there were just the right number of feasts.

Youmu 今日は一段と暑いな。
このままだと、幽霊ものぼせちゃうかも知れない 		Today's really hot.
Even the ghosts might start feeling dizzy.
幽霊の温度は低い。
その幽霊が生きた人間を通り抜けると、触れた部分が軽い凍傷を引き起こす
事さえある。 		Ghosts were cold. They could cause minor frostbite
if they passed through humans.
肝試しが夏に行われるのは、その幽霊の温度の低さにあやかろうとする人間
の知恵である。
だが逆に、幽霊は暑さには余り強くない。本当に幽霊が恐ろしい者になるの
は冬なのだ。その点でも、肝試しが夏に行われるのは良い。 		In the summer, people liked to test their guts.
People learned then that ghosts were cold.
But conversely, ghosts were weak to heat.
Ghosts became extremely fearsome in the winter.
Because of that, it was better to go test one's guts in the summer.
Youmu それにしても、妖気は無事解決してよかった It's a good thing the mist
was taken care of without incident.

Yuyuko そう言えば、妖夢。この間の妖気、結局なんだったのかしら？ Oh yeah, Youmu, what happened with the mist?
Youmu あれは……やっぱり変な奴の仕業でしたよ That... was the doing of some weird person.
Yuyuko 変な奴？　目的は何？ A weird person? What was the motive?
Youmu さぁ、それは……。
まぁ、奇人のする事なんて良く判らないですから 		Hmm... that would be...
well, you never know what's going on with people like that.
Yuyuko そう……あの妖気、普通の妖怪の仕業じゃないものね Yeah... that mist wasn't the doing
of some regular youkai, was it?

Wasn't it something that brought cheer just by being there?
Yuyuko だから私は、座敷童の仕業だと思ってたけど That's why I thought it was zashiki-warashi...
Youmu それはまた、豪快な座敷童ですね That would be one amazing zashiki-warashi.
Yuyuko 違った？ Am I wrong?
Youmu いや、妖怪では無かったですが…… Nah, it wasn't a youkai, but...
座敷童なら、いなくなってしまえばそこは寂しくなる。
確かに、その妖気が無くなってから宴会の数は減ったので、座敷童だったの
かもしれない。
ただ一つ異なる事は、宴会が減っても寂しくはならなかった事だった。 		If it were a zashiki-warashi,
then the place would become empty and lonely if she left.
True, the number of feasts decreased since the mist disappeared,
so it might be a zashiki-warashi. But, even though the feasts
decreased in number, it did not become any more empty.
剣は、まだお師匠様の言うようには真実を見せてくれない。
修行が足りないと思い知らされたのだ。
もし真実が見える様になったら……その時は私もきっとお師匠様の様に。

――博麗神社。幻想郷の辺境に存在している神社である。
夏の日差しはますます強くなり、蝉の鳴き声もここぞとばかり大きくなって
いった。 		---Hakurei Shrine. A shrine on the edge of Gensokyo.
The rays of the summer sun became stronger and stronger,
and the crying of cicadas became louder and louder.
博麗神社は、幻想郷でも最も四季の変化が顕著に表れる場所である。
夏は暑く、冬は寒い。春は桜が見事で、秋は食べ物が美味しい。
ただ神社には、その自然の変化より四季の変化を感じさせる人が居る。
これを目当てに神社に遊びに来る者もいるだろう。 		The Hakurei Shrine had the most prominent seasons in Gensokyo.
Summers were hot, winters were cold.
Cherries blossomed in the spring,
and the food was delicious in the autumn.
There was someone at the Shrine who could feel
the changing of the seasons better than Nature herself.
There were those who came to the Shrine to meet her.

Reimu 暑いわねぇ。こう暑いと境内の掃除はしたくなくなるわね It's hot, isn't it?
I don't want to sweep the grounds in this heat.
Alice さっきから掃除をしようとして無いじゃないの Weren't you going to sweep a while ago?
Reimu ちょっと休憩よ I'm taking a short break.
Alice 貴方を見てると、夏が来たって実感できるわ。
分かり易すぎるもの 		I can tell it's summer just by looking at you.
It's too easy to tell.
Reimu ちょっと休憩だっていってるでしょ？
あんたは暑くないの？ 		I told you, I'm taking a break.
You're not hot?
Alice この程度、何てこと無いわ。人間と違って、この程度の気温の違い
なんて言われなきゃ気が付かない位よ 		This is nothing. Unlike you, I wouldn't even notice
the difference if you didn't tell me it was hot.
Reimu これだから、変温動物は困るわ That would be a problem for cold-blooded animals.
Alice 温度は変わらない I'm not cold-blooded.
Reimu そう言えば、前の妖気騒ぎは結局どうなったのよ？ Oh right, what happened with the ghostly mist a while back?
Alice あぁ、あれ？　あれはねぇ……湖の血だってさ。
私たちは、血の匂いに集まる魚 		Oh... huh? That... um... blood on the lake.
We were just like fish, drawn by the smell of blood.
Reimu また訳判らない事をいう There you go again, saying things I can't understand.

Suika そんな事より、次に宴会するのはいつ～ Forget that, when's the next party~
Reimu 暑いしねぇ。みんなダレてるんじゃない？ It's so hot. Everyone's just lazing around, right?
Suika でも、私が幹事をすれば必ず集まるわよ If you let me do it, I could get everyone together.
Alice って、それは禁止って言ったでしょ？
暫くは大人しくしてなさい 		Hey, didn't I say you couldn't do that?
Behave yourself for now.
Reimu ？ ?
Suika もう、退屈だなぁ Jeez, it's so boring.
Reimu 退屈なら境内の掃除でもしない？ If it's so boring, why don't you sweep the grounds?
Suika 報酬はあるの？ Is there something in it for me?
Reimu 境内で何か見つかったらあげるから I'll give you anything you find.
Suika え～。こんな神社に何もないでしょ？
まぁ掃除なんて５秒で終わるからいいけど 		Ehhhh~ But there's nothing in this shrine, is there?
Well, I'll finish in about five seconds anyway, so whatever.
Reimu ５秒？ Five seconds?
Alice 確かに５秒で終わるんでしょうね Yeah, you can't finish in five seconds.
結局、霊夢は見ていなかったが、３秒位で境内中のゴミが集まっていた。
萃香は一瞬でゴミを集めた分、ゴミの物色に時間を当てていた様だった。
３０分ほどして戻ってきたが……
結局何も見つからなかった、という顔をしていた。 		In the end, when Reimu wasn't looking,
Suika collected all the trash within the grounds in three seconds.
She did it in a flash, then spent
most of her time rummaging through the garbage.
それでも霊夢は、５秒じゃないけど確かに早かったね、と言っていたが…… She came back after 30 minutes...
The look on her face revealed that she didn't find anything.
Reimu said, `that's not five seconds, but you're pretty fast.`
鬼の力は恐ろしい物である。
ただ、この力はアリスにとって羨ましい以外の何物でもなかったのだ。
そう、蒐集家としてこれ程羨ましいものはない、と。
Ending No.7 (Alice Good Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		An Oni's strength is a frightful thing.
But, Alice saw that strength as no more than an object of envy.
For collectors, there's nothing more coveted than strength like that.

――魔法図書館。何年も日の光が当たらない暗い部屋である。
ここには夏も冬も、昼も夜も、余り変化と言うものが無い。
本を何年も保存しておくには、生を与える日光と外気は毒でしかない。
そう、まるで、この館にすむ主の様に。 		---Voile, the Magic Library.
A dark room where no light has ever penetrated.
One could not differentiate the seasons or the time of day in here.
The life-giving sunlight and air of the outside world
were nothing more than poison to books t
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、段々と回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		The feasts which had continued ever since
the flower-viewings began to lessen in number.
Some thought the number of feasts occurring now was just right.

魔道書は、基本的には大量生産される事は無い。
何故なら、これら全ての本は誰かの手書きだからである。
図書館の中には、当然パチュリーが書いた魔道書も少なくない。
魔道書は、こうやって手書きで少しずつ充実させていくのである 		Books on magic weren't produced very often.
For whatever reason, all the books here were written by hand.
Within this library, there were naturally
more than a few books written by Patchouli herself.
Books on magic were written like this, by hand, slowly to completion.

大量の豆を効率よく浴びせる弾幕。これなら鬼とはいえたまらないだろう。
もう一度、あいつに会うのを楽しみにしていた。 		Patchy was thinking about her new magic that would use fried beans.
A danmaku that would use beans.
The oni probably couldn't stand it.
She was looking forward to meeting the oni again.
鬼の様に強力な力を持つ者には、何故か変な弱点があるものだ。
もしかしたら小さな弱点をさらけ出す事で、本当の弱点を隠しているのでは
ないか、だから、強いのではないのか。そう思えてならない。 		Things like oni which wield incredible power
often have strange weaknesses.
Maybe if a small weakenss is exploited,
the real, larger weakness is hidden.
That's why they were strong. It was unthinkable.
この館の主も、同じ様に変な弱点を持っている。
だから、強いのだ。

――悪魔の居る紅い館。紅魔館。
夜の風は、世界が浴びた昼間の毒を適度に流しさってくれる。
日光の毒を受けた世界は、夜、月の光で浄化される。
夜に生きる者達は、自分達が一番贅沢な生き方をしていると考えていた。 		---The house of the devil, Scarlet Devil Mansion.
The winds of the night blew away the poisons of the day.
The moon's light cleansed the world of the sunlight's poison.
The denizens of the night thought
they lived in a most luxurious fashi
夏の夜は蚊の様な虫も多い。
だが、蚊も流石に吸血鬼を刺そうとはしなかった。
花見からずっと続いていた宴会騒ぎも、段々と回数が減っていった。
宴会もこの位の回数が丁度良い、と、誰もが思っていたのである。 		There are lots of mosquitoes and things in the summer nights.
But, it seems mosquitoes don't go after vampires after all.
The feasts which had continued uninterrupted
since the flower-viewings began to dwindle in number.
Some people thought the number of feasts now was just right.

Remi 満月が凄く綺麗だわ。
咲夜もたまには休んで、この月を楽しむ位の心の余裕を持って欲し
いわね 		The full moon is so beautiful. I wish Sakuya
could just relax sometimes and enjoy this moon.
Remi 仕様が無い、強制的に休ませるか。
咲夜ー。居るー？ 		Can't help it, I'll force her to relax.
Sakuya~! Are you there?
近くに居る事なんて判っているのだが、ちゃんと呼ばないと出てこない。
呼んでいない時は、見てない振りをしないと失礼に当たるからである。
メイドとは、便利な様で中々面倒な物だ。 		She knew Sakuya was near her, but Sakuya
wouldn't come out until she called. It would be impolite
of her to be seen without first being called.
Maids are convenient to have around, but are fairly troublesome
since they have to be called or else they won't show themselves.
そう言えば、あの鬼もそうだった。
最初から近くに居た事は判っていたのだが、手順を踏んでちゃんと呼ばない
と出てこない。
世の中、面倒な事が多すぎる。 		Speaking of which, that oni was like that too.
Even though one knows she's nearby, one would have to call her out,
or else she wouldn't appear.
There are too many troublesome things in the world.
Sakuya お呼びでしょうか？ You called, my lady?

Sakuya はい、紅茶です。
ちゃんと冷ましてありますから、そんなに熱くないですよ 		Yes, red tea. It's been sitting for a bit,
so it's not that hot.
Remi 判ってるじゃない See, you do know why I called.
Sakuya 判りますよ。いつも同じじゃないですか Yes. It's always the same.
Remi 今日は満月よ。いつもとはちょっと違う Tonight's the full moon. It's a bit different from normal.
Sakuya 何言ってるんですか、満月にだって何度もなってますよ What are you talking about,
there's been so many full moons.
Sakuya ですから、紅茶も満月用に用意したものです But I prepare red tea for you during the full moon, too.
Remi ……本当に判ってるじゃないか ...you really don't know...
お茶とは、植物を煮出してそのエキスを取る物である。
お茶は植物の血液の様なものだ。
紅いお茶なんて尚更である。
だから、吸血鬼は紅茶を飲む。 		Tea is the extract of a plant.
It's like a plant's blood.
Especially red tea.
That's why vampires drink red tea.
Remi 満月用って、いつものと何が違うのかしら？ I wonder, is there some difference in the tea
you prepare for me on full moons?
Sakuya 格が違いますよ Yes, the class.
Remi 格ねぇ Class, huh...
Sakuya 紅茶の要素で重要な物は、質、品、そして格です。
質は最低限無ければいけません。
……これは良い葉を選べばいいだけなんですが。
品は後から付けられた由来や雰囲気による物です 		There's three crucial parts to red tea:
quality of the leaves, quality of the drink, and class.
There must be an absolute minimum leaf quality.
...These leaves are good, so it's fine.
The quality of drink depends on the atmosphere and such.
Sakuya 品を上げるには、お茶だけでなく、例えば茶器や飲む時間、雰囲気
にも気を付けなければいけません。
そして格は……葉や器だけでは中々生まれないのですよ 		In order to increase the quality of the drink,
one needs to not only pay attention to the
quality of the tea but also the cup, the time of drinking
and the atmosphere.`
And class... it's not something
that can be created through leaves and cups.
Remi よく喋るわね。
まぁ、それでその格は何から生まれるの？ 		Well said. So, what creates class?
Sakuya 元々格の高い物をお茶に混ぜるのですよ Well, this tea was mixed with more expensive tea leaves.
Remi そんなんでいいの？　というか何を混ぜたのかしらね Is that okay? What'd you mix it with?
Sakuya 格が違うのですよ It's of a different class.
Remi 格ねぇ Class, eh...
咲夜はいくつか勘違いをしている。
格が一番重要だと言ったが、咲夜の言った様な材料等では格は決まらない。 		Sakuya was somewhat wrong.
Though she did say that class was the most important factor,
class isn't decided by the quality of materials.
格は、その材料の謂れ、関係する物の質、で決まるのだ。
この場合、格の高い私が飲むのだから、この紅茶は最初から格が高い。
それに見合う質と品を用意してくれれば、紅茶は自ずと最高級品になる。 		Class was decided through the interaction of materials.
If I am a high-class person, the tea I drink
automatically becomes high class. If we take care and make sure
the quality of both the leaf and the drink is good,
then that red tea becomes the best thing in the world.
私にとって必要な物は質と品だけ。
あの鬼にはそれが、ちょいとばかし足りなかっただけなのだ。

That was the only thing that the oni lacked.

――空気の色が異なる世界、冥界。
人間側の需要もあり、夏は幽霊にとって最も忙しい時期である。
幽霊が言うのも何だが、生きている事を実感していた。 		---The Underworld, a world where even the sky's colour is strange.
There's demand from humans, so summer is the busiest time for ghosts.
They almost feel as if they're alive.
――忙しく過ごす事が、生きている証とは誰が言ったのだろう。
それではまるで幽霊は呑気でとぼけた奴しか居ない、って言っているみたい
じゃないか。
……あまり間違いではないが。 		---Someone once said that being busy was a sign of being alive.
Wouldn't that mean that all ghosts were lazy slackers?
...Isn't that kind of wrong?

Yuyuko お茶の香りはぁ、植物の成仏の香り～♪ The fragrance of tea~ The fragrance of dead plants' souls~♪
Youmu 変な歌歌わないで下さいよ Don't sing weird songs, please.
Yuyuko お茶の香りが広まるとね、いずれ冥界中が良い香りになるのよ The tea's fragrance will spread, and some time later,
the entire Underworld will smell nice!
Youmu 流石にそれは……凄く時間がかかりそうですね That... that would take quite a while.
時間などいくらでもあるのだ。
幽霊にとっては、時間の概念も生きる人間とは異なる。
長い人の一生も、幽霊からみれば永遠であり須臾でもある。
長くもあり、短くもある、という事だ。どっちだろう？ 		There's plenty of time.
For ghosts, the concept of time is different
than the concept that living humans hold.
To a ghost, a human's long life is both a moment and an eternity.
It's both long and short. Which is it?
Yuyuko 妖夢、判るかしら？
昔の人は物が広まる事を楽しんでいたのよ 		Youmu, you understand, right?
People used to like spreading things.
Youmu え、それはどういう意味ですか？ Eh, what does that mean?

Yuyuko どんな物でも広まると薄くなるでしょ？
そしていずれ無くなってしまう 		If you spread things out, they become thinner, right?
Then, at some point, it will disappear.
Youmu ちゃんと閉じていないと、風味はどんどんと失われてしまいます If you don't shut it in, the flavor and odor will be lost.
Yuyuko でも、それは本当に無になった訳ではないの But, it's never actually lost.
Youmu …… ...
Yuyuko 完全に広まった世界。それはサビなのよ。
あなたも西行寺家で暮らすなら、その位判ってほしいわ 		A completely dispersed world. That's simple elegance.
If you're to live at the Saigyouji House,
I wish for you to understand that.
Youmu また訳の判らない事を言って、人を困らせようとするのですか？ Are you just trying to confuse me here?
Yuyuko 何言ってるのよ、私『達』がずっと慣れ親しんできた価値観。
妖夢もわかって欲しいだけよ 		What are you talking about?
This has always been the viewpoint that `we` hold.
I want you to understand.
Youmu 幽々子さまの価値観はいつもさっぱり判らないので、
その教えはありがたいのですが…… 		I never know what type of view you hold,
so I'd be glad if you taught me...
Youmu 私は、その価値観で命じられた仕事で毎日大変なんですよ？ If I took that point of view to my everyday work,
wouldn't we be in trouble?
Yuyuko いやいや妖夢、毎日の繰り返し。これはワビね。
今回の異変は、ワビとサビで見るとすぐに理解できたのよ 		No, Youmu, daily repetition is refined elegance.
From the latest incident, you can see the difference
between refined and simple elegance immediately.
Youmu 今回の異変？　異変って繰り返し行われた宴会の事ですか？ Latest incident? Are you referring to the repeated feasts?
Yuyuko そうよ？　決まってるじゃないの Yeah, of course?
Youmu あれは、どう見ても巫女近辺の仕業だと思ったのですが……
幹事も魔理沙だったし…… 		That had to be Reimu and company's work...

冥界にはサビはないので、お茶の香りが広まり続ければ冥界中が良い香りに
なるのもあながち嘘ではない。
勿論、別の理由でそんな事はないのだが……。 		There was no simple elegance in the underworld.
However, it was not exactly a lie when Yuyuko claimed
the tea's fragrance could spread throughout the underworld.
Of course, there were other reasons why this couldn't be true...
現世の外側はワビしか存在しない。それが冥界が永遠の地たる所以である。
蓄積されたワビは、現世ではサビに見えるだろう。
今回の小鬼もワビしか持たない者だったから、現世では広まりきった妖気と
して現れていたのだ。何故なら…… 		In today's world, there only existed refined elegance.
That's because the Underworld is forever locked underground.
Accumulated simple elegance probably manifests itself as refinement.
鬼は既にこの世に、幻想郷には居ないのだから。 The little Oni that caused this incident didn't have
any refined elegance, so that's why she manifested herself
as a spreading mist. It's because...
Oni don't exist in Gensokyo anymore.
幽々子にはそれが見えていた。
完全に広まった小鬼は、幻想郷を包み込み、『幻想郷中』があの小鬼になっ
てしまった。
だから、みんなには『見えなかった』だけ。 		Yuyuko saw that. The little Oni spread herself out,
and became an Oni `in and throughout Gensokyo.`
That's why no one could actually see her.
最近の幻想郷の住人は、日本人が慣れ親しんできた価値観を理解しようとし
ていない。
だから、あの小鬼にからかわれてしまう。
鬼はそこに居たというのに気が付かない。 		The denizens of Gensokyo didn't understand the Japanese viewpoint.
That's why they were duped and played by the little Oni.
They didn't feel her presence by their side.
そう、鬼退治専門も、もう居ない。
昔は当たり前の様に居た夜の人間は、もう居ない。 		Yes, there was no one who could destroy Oni.
Something that the people of old took for granted...
no longer existed.
妖夢には少し勉強させる必要があると思って教えているのだ。
せめて、その剣で鬼が斬れる位になるまでは……。
その当の本人はというと……何だか難しい顔をしていた。
Ending No.10 (Yuyuko Good Ending) ―― Congratulation! 		Youmu needed to study a bit more.
At least, until that sword could cut through oni...
When told that... Youmu's expression became complicated.

Ending 11 - Reimu Bad Ending2

結局、夜は幻想郷のものになったかどうかは、定かではないが、
紫も宴会に参加することなった。
紫の登場により、いつも居ない様な者もちらほらと居る気がする。
いや、明らかに多いんだけど。 		In the end, it wasn't clear whether or not night fell in Gensokyo.
Yukari attended the feast anyways.
Her appearance seemed to bring in some characters
that normally didn't make an appearance.
No, there were many who came.
――ただ、幻想郷の妖気は一向に収まる気配は無かったのだ。
むしろ、宴会の度にその濃度は増していく。
何故、誰も気にしないのかが不思議だった。
その理由を紫に聞いてみたところ、こう言ってのけたのだ。 		---But, the ghostly mist that
surrounded Gensokyo would not dissipate.
Rather, it became thicker as the feasts continued.
For whatever reason, no one thought this was strange.
Why was this? We asked Yukari, and she said:
紫「妖気？、あぁ、この妖気自体があいつなのよね。
昔からこういう奴だったし、気にするほどの事じゃないわ」
……そんなもの吸って大丈夫なんだろうか。
Ending No.11 (Reimu Bad Ending2) ―― Next Feast! 		Yukari: `Mist? Oh, it's actually her.
It's always been her, so it's nothing to worry about.`
...Was it safe to breathe this mist?

――博麗神社。幻想郷の辺境に存在している神社である。
一時は元に戻らないんじゃないかと思われた空も、すぐに正常を取り戻し、
無事に夜になった。 		In the end, the feast occured as if nothing had happened.
Only this time, Yukari also came to the lively party.
結局、宴会は何事も無かったかのように無事開催された。
それに只でさえ賑やかな宴会に紫も参加することになった。
魔理沙は紫の持ってきた大吟醸を一人占めして非難囂々だったが、紫だけは
何故か何も言わなかった。 		Marisa hogged all of Yukari's top-class sake

すっかり善人となった紫は、みんなに気持ち悪がれたが、何も迷惑を欠ける

through the haze once again, and night fell.

それに只でさえ賑やかな宴会に紫も参加することになった。
紫は、宴会でみんなが一つにまとまるように境界を操作していた。
そう、水と油を混ぜる様に。そして、宴会は大盛況のまま終了した。 		In the end, the feast happened as planned.
Only this time, Yukari also came to the lively gathering.
Yukari manipulated a border as if
attempting to combine everyone together.

Yukari gave Alice a harsh scolding, and the party went wild.
Everyone left the party in high spirits.

The party ended spectacularly without incident.

今回の宴会は、紅い悪魔が隠し芸の手品を見せた事もあり、いつも以上の盛
り上がりを見せていた。
その手品は練習したてでちょっと拙かったが、みんな酔っ払っていたので、
そんな細かい事は全く気にしなかった。 		During this feast, the Scarlet Devil did some magic tricks,
and so the party was livelier than usual.
She botched her tricks a bit, but everyone was too drunk to notice.
――ただ、幻想郷を包み込む妖気は一向に収まる気配は無く、それどころか
宴会を繰り返す度にその濃度を増していたのだ。

宴会に出る料理の大半は咲夜が作ったものだった。 		The maid was a bit tired because she didn't get enough sleep,
but the party was as lively as always.
Even if she lacked sleep, she did not forget her duty.

filled with the sorrows of the day.
A campfire.
It was Patchouli, who normally remained
apathetic and unmoving to these feasts, who suggested this.
