After graduating in 1994, she worked for design and advertising agencies. Her early influences are art directors such as Neville Brody, David Carson and Ridley Scott. In 1997 she completed her MA Design at Middlesex University in London, researching Brand Extension; sharing her alumni with long-time design heroes – Vivien Westwood and Brody.
In 2000 she joined the UK travel publications. She progressed to become creative editor and photojournalist for travel and hospitality titles in London; producing magazines and online titles for tourism offices worldwide.
From 2008 until 2010, she was a freelance travel editor for OptimistWorld.com reporting on sustainable travel. Currently she writes articles on culture production and photography on Sojournposse.com, and contributes to Not On The Wires. She leads Sojournposse’s photography project for The London Design Festival, and provides short training on multimedia content production for various corporations.
In 2006 Zarina co-founded a photography collective Sojournposse, that embraces photography, multimedia and digital storytelling. In 2010 it has been listed as “one of the top 70 influential multimedia outfit” in the US and UK by Innovative Interactivity magazine.
