I copied and pasted the HTML code for Yahoo! Search Box into my page, but the add-on won't display. Why?

First be certain that you copied the exact HTML code from the add-on page and pasted it into your page's HTML. If you're working with an offline tool such as SiteBuilder or FrontPage, be sure to republish your page with the new code. Learn how to add HTML to your page.

If you're certain you copied the code properly, check to see if the add-on you are trying to install requires activation. The Stock Quotes add-on, for example, requires that you return to the Stock Quotes page to activate the feature after you have copied the HTML code into your page.

Finally, be sure your browser supports JavaScript and that you have JavaScript enabled. Some add-ons include JavaScript elements such as a rollover image or pull-down menu that won't be visible or work properly if your browser does not support JavaScript, or if this support has been disabled.

To enable JavaScript in Netscape:

  1. Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  2. From the dialog box, select "Advanced."
  3. Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
  4. Click the "OK" button.

For more information, please consult your browser's help files. If you need a browser that supports JavaScript, we suggest downloading Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Netscape Navigator, or Mozilla Firefox.
