League Divisions are stupid
Once people get into leagues like Masters they stop playing that game type, so they end up just sitting around in Masters eating up a slot.
Since Blizzard doesn't really move people out of leagues much, you end up with these leagues being filled by players who then go somewhat inactive. So good players = stuck in lower leagues because there are a limited # of masters slots and a bunch of trashy scrub newbies saturated masters league that blizzard won't move out now.. Get rid of league divisions and just have a global ladder system. No bronze, silver, gold, plat, diamond, masters, grand masters, bull*@!%.. A global point/rank system would be better than having hundreds of different stupid leagues where newbs fill up slots then go inactive. Oh, i'm masters, AFK now I will eat up a slot with my 10-20 wins and 5 losses.. look at me i'm masters.. And no one else can get in because Blizzard is too @!@*@ to move these crappy inactive players out of the leagues. I guess they dont want all the casuals to see "Rank 50,231 of x,xxx, xxx" or whatever.. Anyway, divisions are stupid.. If you aren't gonna boot inactives who eat up the slots in the higher up leagues then why even @@%@ing have them? idiotic. |
Once people get into leagues like Masters they stop playing that game type, so they end up just sitting around in Masters eating up a slot. you know that inactive players aren't counted on roster? you know you'll get to masters when you're good enough? there isn't some scrubby newb sitting in masters keeping you out of it, you abilities/skill are. in short, quit *%%@ing whining and learn the game. |
Patch 1.3: Grandmasters League.
|
they are active until they get into masters, then they stop playing. Then blizzard doesn't move people out of masters ever.. Unless you lose 50 in a row or something impossible. Don't want to butthurt all the bad noobs they promoted into masters.
Whats wrong with a global ladder? Afraid you will have to compete with better players? Pussies. |
In patch 1.4 they're changing the division size to 1, so everyone can be #1.

Once people get into leagues like Masters they stop playing that game type, so they end up just sitting around in Masters eating up a slot. Also, nice 1 match you played in 1v1 within the last 3 days. Just proves my point guy. You can keep playing customs and 2s and 3s and whatever because you just want to sit around & eat up a slot guy. It's funny to see someone who can barely hold a 1-1 w/l ratio (and inactive in 1s now) talking about how he deserves to be in masters. people in masters are afraid to play. |
except he's right? |
why is my W/L ratio better then? Noob just ate up a slot and went inactive basically. Oh no cant get kicked out of my masters division. global point system would reveal peoples true skill level.. Not these artificial divisions that get saturated with players who become inactive. |
W/L doesn't matter. If he played people at your level over and over again his win/loss ratio would be way higher. Also, once you are in masters, your MMR basically equals your ladder points, so again W/L is irrelevant. As a matter of fact, people who play less on ladder ( the exact ppl you are attacking) will have a higher w/l ratio cause they practice more on customs or smurf accounts. But you totally have a point. Most masters below 2k are complete !!!% garbage that can be easily taken out by high diamonds. I'd say half the ppl on masters are there for status, the other half, actually cause they are trying to get better. |
You're wrong about people eating up slots. People who are good enough to be in masters will be promoted to masters. People who aren't good enough for masters won't get promoted, simple.
Inactive players do not count towards the league restrictions, so using this as an excuse for why you're not being promoted is nonsense. That aside, I do agree that the league system is pretty bad. I would much prefer a standard ELO ranking system. That system has been used in lots of different games for decades, it's a reliable system and allows you to see a true representation of your skill level relative to other players. |
