1.7 Has been released, check the change log below

Hey guys, were back again, a quick summary of what happened was, Yuias the author of Kengeki 0.95 apparently copied a lot of content from other mods and this enraged a few members due to no credit being given. So we PM'd as many mod authors we could find that had content in Kengeki and received positive responces, this included all of the people below.

Camel class removed from zombie faction in MP

You can add or change stuff to it with a map editor like Thorgims, its very buggy but as long as your careful it can be helpful, you can get it here - http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=90

It requires at least the trial version of normal mount and blade, copy the map.txt from the japan zip to the native folder and edit away, constantly save.

To get the Japanese map back just copy and replace maps.txt and parties.txt. Parties.txt controls the city names and other things.

even beeing mixed it is really cool,and we can even "roleplay" as a "exorcista"with holy/demonic/enchanted weapons wich chooses to exterminate the evil,or be in it side,and i liked your mod because it gives it a "fantasy" in the mount e blade i actualy got bored of realism of medieval xD,this will animate me again i thank you

Can u please fixed the single player version (i mean the map ) for example u start a new game and you are in shariz , when u want to go down to kyoto and because there is no land to cross so you can't go there , this is a big bug!!!!
I don't want to cheat to use ship to travel there - -.
Please make the single player version better and the map better ( all fraction F***** up ) all fraction close together u know what i mean

I dont mind element of fantasy but huge and tiny camels are plain retarded and most players who want to ruin everyone's game take those.... its really annoying

ooooh, man that is a big bug. sorry about that. I'll take the japan map out in the next release, unfortunately the map was an open source thing and he only released the compiled files so I don't think it's possible for me to edit it too much.

you're gonna have to talk to the people we got a lot of the weapons and armor from. I believe the armor is from the Onin No Ran team but I don't know if you would be able to contact them or not.

Fist of all, MANY THANKS to swordsusa and all those who sacrifice their skills and time to create this mod!
Its a lot of good stuff that you made to increase the entertainment and the gameplay itself. The new battle movement, the falling animation movies, the battle cries and sounds are impressive. The sword even made impressively accurate sound when it move inside the scabbard. Japan map and mercenaries are excellen ideas. The whole game received truly new image with Japanese style, which is new and made it far more playable. The bug for the map is bad, but nothing can be done about it. But I can`t see any changes in the factions except their names. They look just as the old ones but with new names. I`d love to play with "Zombies", "Demons" or whatever new races you`d like to add just as "Warsword" mod for the original game. But in Japan map a man expect to see Japanese things, right? If someone like to add Lineage Mod it is also a great idea. The mix of Japanese and Lineage doesn`t look so good. But you must receive some reward of something of the sort for the implementation of the special female armors. It is the first of its kind. I began new game just to look at it. Also the "Jinbaori" is another wonderfull addition and also historically correct (at least for the warlords) and completely overwhelming any sets of boots. The Shinobi equipment is very well made and I wonder why the faction itself doesn`t look to have it. Kinpakuoshi helm and the new horned helmets look quite good. The idea to replace the shield with left hand weapon is incredible and unique for this game and it`s mods if you allow me to say that. Could it be used as two-weapons fighting? KataKama Yari however is typical Chinese spear and have no place in Japan style game. There is histocial Katakayama Yari. Kami No Ryuu, the same Chu-Ko-Ni crossbow from another mod is exactly Korean style. Kikuchi Yari is perfect. Naginata and Kagura polearms and just fine. I`d like to add my special thanks for the Haganeno mask which become my personal favourite just for the pure image. Look quite demonic and it`s just lovely. A whole set would be very nice. But the plate armor in knight style Kinpakuoshi Nanbando Gusoku look very strange and European to me, compared with Gusoku, Akaitoodoshi, Hitoodoshi and Konitoodoshi armors which look far more suitable for Japan. The horses from "Warsword" mod are good, I actually hoped to see the Nightmare horse but it seems to miss here.
And in the end I`d like to thank you again for your hard work. I also played version 1.5 and saw the improvements of 1.6. But please, do not neglect the single player gamers. Please.

Not sure why, but all of the items you added to the game, only show up in the vendor, I thought it was supposed to show up on NPCs as well? Although, I really like this mod, it is great. However, shogunate and shinobi should dress the part I think, and they don't, so that makes it an 8/10. 1 point per faction. Other than that I love the mod. If you have a special fix for this problem it will become 10/10. Also, the zombies faction gets eliminated as soon as I start the game for some reason?

Interesting, this does not occur to me, maybe try and redownload the mod and reinstall it. it could be a minor corruption in the download.

I actually, edited the factions myself, not extensively, but I erased pretty much everything of the old factions (except on farmers, because they are not samurai, therefore they still have sarranid stuff) Although the shogunate, shinobi, rebels, etc. as well as bandits, have all been overhauled to have samurai-like gear, as well as skills to fit. So if you have a regiment of shogunate men they have swords and spears like a japanese samurai, as well as armor. Still much to be done with it, but I did quite a bit. I also made it so that cavalry is a slight bit more rare. And edited the swords a bit to be faster/more damaging. These changes can easily be reversed though, as they are simply added to the spears/swords, and a few of the daggers (really only things used by troops). If you want, I can send you my edits, as well as the editor I used to do this, although you could just find the editor in the repository ^^ Changing the items back to normal is simple enough. Just overwrite the item_kinds.txt, I just find that the speed of the katana's as well as reach ( for some reason I kept missing a lot of strikes on horseback using a katana, and on foot it didn't reach all to well either, I tested this, and now it seems to work ok) The spears I just thought to balance the speed a bit more with swords, the swords and spears both got a damage boost, since a katana is very sharp and can easily cut through armor, and naginata's/yari's are very goot piercing/cutting spears.

On the point of rarer cavalry, I can tell you, they are not hard to find, they are just mostly on elite troops, which makes it harder to get them for you, and makes so that even the huge armies of the factions don't solely rely on them to win battles like they used to. The khergits have now been remodeled to be mainly archers, but they also have an infantry branch of spearman elite troops to keep the balance, but mainly archers, almost all of their troops are archers, including their horsemen. The shogunate, have sword wielding horseman, the tenbatsu have spearmen all the way, even their horseman, they have absoultely no ranged, but to compensate, they are uber spear wielders. The shinobi are what they are, they have some ranged, some melee and some throwing, pretty much a lot of skilled warriors, but none on horseback, and none too heavily armored. The rebels are much like the shogunate, but have no horsemen. All of the factions are equally balanced in different ways though, and each has appropriate gear.

I have yet to figure out how to edit the menus and descriptions/conversation, otherwise I'd have done that too. Another thing, is that I don't have the right resources or tools to edit castles/towns for japanese architecture things. Resources meaning, I don't have textures/meshes/etc.

Also, I don't know how to make it so that you can choose the japanese style banners. I can't stand the normal banners, so I want to get this part done as soon as possible.

I forgot to mention, I completely re-did all the hero's to have japanese gear as well, (also tweaked names to be japanese-ish) only re-named the ones with titles though.

If you have skype sent me a message or shoot me an e-mail at webmaster@birchlake.ath.cx the problem with doing it on compiled files is that it must be redone in the python code, you cannot just keep the txt files.

Connection is 3G board band though..
3g isn't the best connection for anything in terms of ping. Also, I think I host the only two servers as of now and they are located in iowa, I don't know how close you are to that but distance can play a role.

swordsusa , the single player need to improve . on the other hand multiplayer i found a major bug. Is when u host a server chose the fraction tenbatsu it will crash the game.
THIS IS A BIG MAJOR BUG , is it because u add the new fish?? or something :shock:
Interesting, this does not occur to me, maybe try and redownload the mod and reinstall it. it could be a minor corruption in the download.

Connection is 3G board band though..
3g isn't the best connection for anything in terms of ping. Also, I think I host the only two servers as of now and they are located in iowa, I don't know how close you are to that but distance can play a role.

nevermind then , i stick to single player now ,. :cry: .
Anyway don;t u think the shoooting is sucks. the conbat enhancement in archery is sucks because it is like a robot , is there anyway to revert it back to the normal native shooting.
i mean when u shoot it take so long to reload ande its is like a robot , don't u think swordsusa? :-?

Just recently got onin no ran music working on kengeki. Not really sure if my choices to put what to where are good, but it's a start at least xD

I think some of them aren't specificly onin no ran musics, it was just used in the onin no ran mod. And I found the music in a free pack here in the repository.

So far, just using the text edits, I have made successful troops cavalry, infantry, and ranged, all works just fine.

Hopefully you can get permission to use onin no ran music ^^ they sound really good. Especially when you are in battle and that japanese fight music starts playing, it can get you all glued into the fighting xD

Get a .brf editor (probably available in the modding tools on this site) and edit out the bow animations. Or you can just delete all the animations, and remove it from the INI. YOU HAVE TO REMOVE IT FROM THE INI IF YOU DELETE THEM, other wise it will crash your game.

But if you just edit them out of the .brf file then you should be fine.
