Was it a case of foul play?
Shortly after Adrienne N. Martin, 27, was found dead at the suburban St. Louis home of beer magnate August Busch IV on Sunday, Busch's lawyer spoke to the media to address that very question.
"I can tell you there is absolutely nothing suspicious about her passing, and it's a tragic and untimely death of a young person," Art Margulis told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "A very kind young person, by the way."
But who was Martin? As police continue their investigation, and the results of an autopsy have yet to be analyzed, Surge Desk rounds up what is known so far.
1. Martin was an aspiring beer model
Along with scantily clad pictures of herself, Martin posted the following message on her profile at iStudio, a networking website for photographers and models:
I have been in pageants for several years now and I feel I want to do something more; MODELING! I really would like to do beer advertising! Since I have only just begun I can't wait for my exciting times ahead!
2. Martin was recently divorced
Married to a 45-year-old man since 2002, Martin was officially divorced in February 2009, the Post-Dispatch reports. She was the mother of an 8-year-old son, of whom she shared joint custody.
3. Martin was Native American
On her iStudio profile, Martin identified her ethnicity as Native American.
4. Martin and Busch IV were romantically involved
Friends of Martin's told the Post-Dispatch that Martin and Busch IV had been dating for "the last several months."
5. Martin dreamed of becoming a child therapist
On her iStudio page, Martin explained her desire to go into a career in therapy. "As an Art Therapist I would work with children to develop their self-esteem and confidence to get through a difficult time," Martin wrote. "Children that have been traumatized from rape, child abuse, etc. usually do not want to communicate with adults about what happened to them."
Here is a brief glimpse of August Busch IV, appearing in an ad for Budweiser, one of the beers his family business makes.
