Many people have been complaining that the Hen released a few hours ago is not working correctly on some PSP3000 models. Chinese developer 忠贞炙烈之炎 (virtuous flame) has posted an unofficial fix for the issue. The “hack” fixes a problem were TN Hen doesn’t correctly recognize newer models of PSP3000. (For those who don’t know, some PSP300 are recognized as 3g, but newer ones as 4g).

I haven’t tested this fix myself (my PSP3000 is now running 6.31), so use at your own risk and report here :)

Note:my server is under huge load due to this release, so please be patient for updates to the FAQ etc…after all, it’s Christmas for me too, and I have a hard time explaining to my guests that I’d like to be close to a computer in the next 48h :)

Finally, Total_Noob released his Hen for 6.20 earlier on the site pspgen.com. This is a historical moment, the first public Kernel exploit in more than a year and a half, but especially, the first kernel exploit on the pspGo.

Right now, this allows you to run your favorite homebrews directly from the XMB. HBL allowed you to do that, but the compatibility here is total, as homebrews that require Kernel mode will run as well. The Hen also comes up with plugin support, so we are closer to a LCFW than a “simple” Homebrew Enabler here. What can I say, it was worth the wait.

Soon enough, we’ll see more features compatible with this Hen, and I’m confident that ISO Loading will be there too, for better or for worse.

Yes, if you’re a pspgo owner, your psp just got waaaay better all of a sudden :)

Enjoy, and download here

Santa Claus will be a few hours early this year, Magixien himself posted an announcement stating that Total_Noob’s Hen will be released on December 24th, at 12h30 PM CET (Paris).

that’s December 24th, 3h30 AM in Seattle, December 24th, 7h30 PM in Beijing, and December 24th, 8h30 PM in Tokyo.

I’ll be sure to upload a copy of the Hen here as well :)

I chatted a bit with Total_Noob a few hours ago, who confirmed to me that the first public release of his Hen is ready and has been sent to pspgen yesterday. I assume the staff at pspgen will now be testing the Hen for a little bit, making sure there is no last minute bug, before they make the public release.

I can see that there’s electricity in the air, just by looking at the spike in visits yesterday, seems I’m not the only one waiting for this release :)

As I mentioned earlier, Jeerum released a major Demo exploit at the worst possible time earlier today.

some1 had been working with m0skit0 and JJS on porting HBL to this exploit. It is unfortunate that the release has to happen like this, but some1 had to release his files much earlier than expected because of the leak.

You can download HBL for the sukkiri exploit here (recommended link) or here (mirror). I haven’t tested it yet, and we will be working on a “proper” release in the days to come. If everything goes well, we will probably drop support for the previous exploits (the golf ones at least), in favor of this one.

This release makes HBL work on 6.35, in theory (haven’t tested yet)

I expect the news to spread very fast by now, so no point in hiding this. Today Jeerum released a user mode exploit for the Demo of the video Game “minna no sukkiri” (files below).

This demo exploit was known by several hackers, and had been found before Jeerum by (at least) the following people: Darxploit, Flyer, minomushi, some1. These people made the clever move of keeping this as secret as possible, and contacting us (mamosuke, j416, JJS, m0skit0, and myself) in order to discuss release plans.

I had written a long explanation on how stupid this leak release was, but then realized that such drama is mostly useless. Let’s just say that Sony will patch both the Hen and this exploit in their next firmware, while everybody already knew that TN had been working on “something” on 6.35 involving a VSH exploit. Well, at least he won’t have to waste this one…

Thumbs down to Jeerum for releasing this now. Man, had you waited a few weeks after Sony’s next firmware, you’d have been in a much better position.

Some1 and JJS have a port of HBL ready for this exploit, we will most likely release it asap but I need to synchronize with other HBL devs.

Oh, and for those who ask, this was pretty much the only known Demo exploit, at least until we can start investigate on Demos that require 6.xx. And trust me, we looked hard.

History repeats itself I guess…

You can download the files of the exploit below, HBL will come later once we’re ready. This exploit is nothing but a call to sceKernelExitGame. Once you load the game and click on “continue”, this will simply exit to the XMB.

Please stay tuned for the release of HBL on this exploit.
