Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth II's eldest granddaughter and cousin to Princes William and Harry, is engaged to England rugby player Mike Tindall.

Phillips, twelfth in line to the British throne, said she was shocked but 'very happy' that her longtime boyfriend proposed. Tindall popped the question yesterday at the couple's home in Gloucestershire.

Now we wonder whether Phillips will beat William and Kate Middleton down the aisle; the future king and queen will marry April 29 at Westminster Abbey.

Phillips and her brother are the only ones among the queen's grandchildren not to hold royal titles as their mother, Princess Anne, turned down the honors.

Amid lawsuits about toys in McDonald's Happy Meals, we asked whether the fast food giant should give away toys to entice kids to eat at their restaurant.

Voters overwhelmingly supported the free toys, with more than 3/4 saying that the freebies make kids happy. Just 24.8% of voters believe the toys encourage children to make unhealthy food choices.

McDonald's has been criticized for marketing its Happy Meals to children. The most nutritious Happy Meal comes with chicken nuggets, apple slices and milk for 390 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 560 milligrams of sodium.

A lunar eclipse and the winter solstice coincided last night, the first time that has happened since Dec. 21, 1638. The next occurrence will be Dec. 21, 2094.

Over the course of more than three hours, slower than a solar eclipse, the moon changed from silver to a glowing red orb.

The lunar eclipse was visible to stargazers around the world but bad weather in parts of Europe and Asia prevent many wannabe-astronomers from seeing the once-in-a-lifetime lunar event.

People worldwide also celebrate the winter solstice -- the shortest day of the year -- today. Revelers gathered at historical Newgrange and Stonehenge to see sunrise play off the ancient stones.
