Cannot generate complete scan report

I have set Scanner>Report to "Complete", but the report generated is no different than "Default" report.

Hi,
Please check if the AVWIN.ini file is set to read-only? If yes, please *uncheck* the read-only attribute there and click OK and try again.

EDIT : In Windows XP, it can be located in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\CONFIG

In Vista and Windows 7, I think it might be located in the Avira Program directory.

I am not sure what you mean by changes in the configuration being saved. Scanner>Report is set for "Complete", but the actual report generated after scan is same as report generated when set for "Default". I am wondering about other settings. I have set Scanner>Scan Scanner priority to "low", but I have tried several types of scans and they all drag the resources, making use of other programs difficult. Has made me question if scanner priority is actually low during scan.

I just recently purchased Avira AV, but after trial testing for one month on three computers. Though not quantified, scans seem to impact resources now more than when I was trialing. I also tested two other AVs and chose Avira because it seemed to be lightest scan load of the three. It is possible, however, that some other settings are different now than when I trialed. Some flaw in my installation?

Hi,

からの引用

I have set Scanner>Report to "Complete", but the report generated is no different than "Default" report.

The complete system scan profile has predefined settings which can't be changed for security reasons.

If you want to see the report on complete then you need to perform a manual scan from Local protection > Scanner.

I appreciate the quick responses and attention that I have been receiving. Maybe I do not understand the reporting. I just ran Local Protection>Scanner Manual Selection Local Disc (C) with Config Scanner>Report set for Complete. The report generated was no different than reports generated when set for Default.

By the way - it may be a good idea to update your forum profile to avoid us having to guess about your operating system - at the top of this page click on "My profile" and fill in at least the information about your OS, and its possible ServicePacks if XP and Vista.
Thank you.

This thread has been tagged Solved, but the problem has not been solved.

I have installed Avira AV Premium on three computers with XP SP3. Configuration for Scanner, including Scanner>Reports, is identical on the three computers.

I began this thread because I could not generate a Complete report when scanning computer 1 (Dell). I tried several different scan profiles including Manual Selection. Though Scanner>Reports was set to Complete, the reports were no different than when set to Default.

Today, I scanned computer 2 (Thinkpad) using the profile Scan for Rootkits and active malware with the C drive checked. Scanner>Reports was set to Complete. This scan generated a Complete report.

I would appreciate a solution to this problem. The ability to generate a Complete report is not in itself important to me. My major concern is that if one Config setting is being ignored, maybe others are. And I have no way of knowing.

Hi,
I've tried to reproduce this problem but I can't, in the scan log the logging is set to High.

In Avira's configuration, Scanner, Scan, Report, after you select the Complete option please make sure that you click on Apply.

I have tried recommendations, but no change. Tried complete uninstall/reinstall - no change. Regardless of setting Scanner>Reports to Complete, scan log indicates logging set to Low.

I see that you are using the latest version of Avira Premium.

Does it help if you uninstall AntiVir, run the Avira registry cleaner from here , clean out all remains of AntiVir, restart the computer and reinstall AntiVir?

Please make sure that the scanner logging is set to "complete" then go to any of your drives, select two or three files, right click and select Scan selected files with AntiVir . Then post here the scan log.

I tried this, but no difference.

HOWEVER, time for a major apology, and thank you, to you and Alexandru, both of you who followed through on this, listened to my complaints, and continued to try solutions. After reinstalling and scanning, I rechecked all my configuration settings and discovered that "Optimized scan", which I have been using, only logs at the default level and does not provide a "Complete" report. When Optimized scan unchecked, Complete report was generated.
