It all happened in a fictional city called FK City. After an incident of a mystrious explosion happened. There was a chemical leak, many citizens reported sickness, but everyone ended up fine and health, so the incident were forgotten when time past by.

Yet things didn't end, as a group of people with super power appeared. They were able to transform themselves into different characters from various anime / game series, and they are able to use the power from these characters. People called them Super Cosplayers(SC in short). As the number of SCs kept growing, some of them formed an anti-government organization called "The BR". The BR then started to cause troubles in FK City, while the army from the government cannot suppress this overwhelming power with normal equipments.

Fortunately, there were also a group of SCs that stood on the side of the government(which are the playerble characters). They teamed up and helped to strike against The BR, and they successfully put an end to the chaos.

After the incident, the government of FK City found the power of SCs was way too dangerous, so laws were set up to restrict SCs to use their powers in public places. Yet things still didn't went well for long. Not after one year, the SCs started to feel depressed and dissatisfied due to the laws' pressure. But right before the SCs turned hostile again, "Z Corp." appeared and called off the 1st S.C.W.U. Contest, allowing SCs to use their powers in the ways they wanted in this contest.

The Hidden Truths: (The followings are spoilers of the main storyline of the game) The mystrious explosion at the beginning of the story, was in fact a failure of an underground experiment on "psycho-materialization". Z-Mega(aka Shin-Z) wanted to create a next-generation psychic soldier army in order to take over the world. The ability of "cosplaying" was simply an unexpected, but still a benefitial result of this experiment. Alpha(original name: Warren) was the experiment subject #1, which was marked as a "failure" due to the fact that Alpha is unable to control his power. Zenka, the only daughter of Z-Mega, was the second test subject, which the result was successful.

Still Z-Mega needed to get rid of Alpha, and he actually decided to terminate Alpha by releasing poisonous gas into his room. However, Alpha went on rampage before he actually got poisoned. He caused that "mystrious explosion" to destroy the whole facility and escaped. The remaining chemicals leaked out and gave the power of "psycho-materialization" to citizens in FK City, resulting in large number of SCs.

As Z-Mega had already built up his own army before Alpha escape, the explosion didn't stop Z-Mega's plan of world invasion. He set up The BR and claimed war to the world. But he underestimated the power of "new version" SCs, and was defeated before he actually took over one city.

After his defeat, Z-Mega still didn't give up his plan. He re-appeared in the name of "Z Corp." and called off the 1st S.C.W.U. Contest. The contest seemed to be a relief for SCs' depressed powers, but in fact Z-Mega wanted to recruit(brain wash) the best SCs from the contest in order to help him on his evil plan, as well as searching for Alpha.

The story takes place far west of the "Ouka Continent", the stage for "Tenchi No Mon", the "Seima Continent".

On this vast land, existed a giant "Mon" (gate) that seemingly pierced the sky and stood proudly on the land. The top was hidden in the swirling clouds that always stayed in the sky around the gate, while the bottom was somewhere in the horizon.

It was so big that its features could be seen clearly from anywhere in the continent, and it seemed like a white silvery pillar piercing through the earth and the sky from far. This "Mon" was respectfully and fearfully called "Seima Mon", and was seen as the symbol of the Seima god.

The player has to switch frequently between the two main characters to make them work like a team. The male main character "Rou" can wield carefree and alluring swordplay, spear skills and taijustsu (bare fists and feet), while the female lead "Shunka" can release colourful and elaborate magic (spiritual power) to move the earth. And one can switch between the characters at any time according to the battle situation, emphasising the tightness and seamlessness of the battles and the strategic interlink of attack and defence.

Twelve is the spiritual the child of a Nippon Ichi S-RPG and Samurai Warriors. The game itself is set in the Sengoku era of Japan, but contains artwork similar to Disgaea. This fictional account of the states focuses on a warlord called, Masanaga who has dreams to take over all of Japan. He's got the magical powers to do it and already kidnapped a princess named Tien. This is where you either a warrior named Hibiki or a female swords expert Minori comes in. You run into the princess who just escaped the fate of being Masanga's sacrifice.
Since it is a strategy RPG the game really focuses on battles. Everything takes place on an isometric 3D battlefield, that includes varying levels of height and terrain. Although character models are sprite based, which gives Twelve a different look than other games in the genre. Each turn starts out with you moving your troops and then once you're done attacking it's the opponent who moves next. You don't have free movement in Twelve, instead you're restricted back to grid movement. Fans of the genre probably won't mind this. On the surface Twelve can be very basic where you attack, be attacked and then attack again. It takes awhile for players to actually taste Twelve's unique features.

Outside of your basic sword slash, elemental magic spell and cool to watch combo attack Twelve adds something new. No it's not timed button pressing, though Twelve did include this, it's the Gunshi system. The Gunshi system allows you to shout support commands to your characters on the battlefield. You can boost defense by encourage an ally to stand his ground or you can increase magic power by shouting "focus". However, the effect of the bonus depends on the relationship between the two combatants. If there's a friendly relationship expect the boost to be worth even more than usual. The Gunshi system adds in an extra twist to boosting.....

The world in Rezel Cross is undergoing an awakening after a comet passes by. Beasts undergo rapid evolution and dormant abilities in humans start to manifest. Increased strength, faster reflexes and agility transform a small number of humans into super humans known as "rezel". While the world is in constant flux Isle, Lefia and three other heroes gifted with rezel powers begin their tale.

The game is split into 20 chapters and the heroes gain the powers of teleport, time pause, psycho kenesis, transformation and x-ray vision as they progress. In addition, the battles are in full 3D with an XMB like interface and the heroes get skill points to unlock new abilities and Rezel Arts as well as Hyper Rezels.

The game has character designs by Eiji Kandeda who also did character designs for Aquarion and a script written by the team who wrote Arc the Lad III & IV.
