The women were released with assistance from officials from the Ukrainian Embassy in Indonesia. They were recruited by a criminal group who lured women to the Indonesian capital Jakarta with modeling jobs. Upon arrival in Indonesia, they took the women's passports and kept them in a local hotel.

The women were forced to work as prostitutes and take drugs.

Among those released from sexual slavery were women from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus aged under 22.

I hope KP and the other UKR news services follow-up on this story. It happens more then people think and deserves better coverage then a wire service story.

Go AFTER the recruiters, Guest | Jul 7 at 23:08

This and similar stories need to be followed and REPEATED DAILY as a public service if nothing else! Before YOU leave Ukraine for a JOB take a photo name and address of the recruiter who promises you the glamorous high pay $$$ job and leave this information with you family, church and local authorities with instructions for WEEKLY communication follow up with telephone or computer(have your own code words like in Soviet occupation days) or SKYPE or some other form. If there is a problem THE recruiter better start coming up with answers or else!

It would be a too easy punishment - let them suffer as the women have done. They deserve to see how it is to be victims.
Put them in a prison with lonely men - that has been alone for a long time, with lots of anger and frustration inside them. Let us see how they handle that.
