Justin Bieber Abruptly Cancels TV Gig After Guest Is Injured in Stunt

Justin Bieber was booked to appear Saturday night on a popular German game show, but abruptly pulled out of the TV gig after a daredevil contestant, appearing on an earlier segment, was hospitalized when a stunt went terribly wrong during the live broadcast.
Samuel Koch, 23, got severely injured on the set of 'Wetten Dass' ('Bet it?'), according to an
Associated Press report, when he strapped on "kangaroo" suspension boots and tried leaping over a moving car driven by his own father.
Viewers of the show -- on which Cher, Phil Collins,
Cameron Diaz and Robbie Williams were also among the guests listed on the broadcaster's official site -- saw Koch lay motionless on the studio's floor after he fell midway through his dangerous stunt. Next, host Thomas Gottschalk reportedly called out for a doctor, as cameras panned away.
Bieber, 16, took to Twitter to ask fans to pray for Koch.
"Just wanted to let my people in Germany know I won't be on
Wetten Dass tonight as an accident has taken place and we all don't think it is right to continue," he
tweeted.
Bieber added, "Please pray for Samuel Koch & his family as we wait and hope for his health and safety...Some things are more important than putting on a show. We will be back, I promise."
Koch suffered multiple fractures and back injuries, and underwent surgery in Duesseldorf on Sunday. His condition is said to be no longer life-threatening.

Daily Mail calls it one of the most-watched TV shows in Europe, where the press has been increasingly critical of how dangerous the stunts -- regularly performed by members of the public -- have become.
Longtime host Gottschalk had actually introduced Koch by telling the audience he felt worried for the young man's safety after watching rehearsals of the stunt: "I have never been so scared...I hope all goes well." Later, after the accident, he said, "It is the first time in my long, long career that such a thing has happened, and we have carried out many dangerous stunts. I have always said that would be the worst thing for me, if something happened to one of my candidates in a live show. I regret enormously that this has now happened."

Now why would I care if an idiot hurt or killed him/herself doing something stupid just for 15 sec of fame. We all pay for the stupid things we do in life. My sentiments...Oh well.

Seventeen year old male with talent is now neck deep in the media muck, and he will be underwater before he knows what happened, then all his fans will 'understand'.

He didn't cancel the show, just his appearance on it.
I pray that people will stop doing idiotic and dangerous stunts to get attention, though it might be a good way to weed out the gene pool.

He said that they all decided to cancel no just him. He is only letting his fans know b/c they would have been waiting to watch b/c of him. This is his job and his is responsible...I hope his stays this way and does not get involved with drugs. It is sad that so many people wish harm on a young man that has showed nothing but talent and kindness to the public.
